It is really astonishing how much the black lives matter crowd and the irrational right has in common...they all are convinced that something is gonna get them, either the police or a car jacker. The truth is it seldom happens either way...when you consider that there are about 350 million people in the United States the odds of being a victim of a crime when not yourself involved in a crime is not much different than being shot by the police when you are either committing a crime or not...but by all means on both sides wrap yourselves in fear...what it lacks in mental and emotional health it more than makes up with the warm cozies and your feels is all that matters. The left and the right are cut from exactly the same cloth

Holy shite you just out enlightened every centrist on here

We get it, having beliefs is stupid and nothing ever matters

That's what I keep seeing. But it's ridiculous. My small town and every single one I've looked at in Louisiana, have almost even populations of blacks and whites.

The video this was made in, Columbia, TN, has demographics the same as the overall state of Tennessee.

Yeah, people get a way with a lot less shite in a small town. That includes all the races.

Probably the biggest mistake Aldean made in making that video was to choose a courthouse that had a well known lynching in front of it.

If you want to convince me that a music video is not about lynching, don't shoot it front of a courthouse notorious for lynchings.

When was the last lynching in front of the courthouse and how many lynchings have happened in front of the courthouse?

This thread got me thinking so I crunched some numbers. I'm headed back to my small town this weekend for a visit. Last year about this time we had a guy shoot a gun from his truck at another guy down main street with minor injuries. Dispute was over his daughter and of course drugs and alcohol were involved. From January, 2016 to December, 2020 Chicago had 13,546 non-fatal shootings. The population of Chicago is 2.67 million while the population of my small town is 232. That means over the 4 year period our rate of gun violence was was 1:928 while Chicago was 1:796. At least as far as my home town is concerned, "it does happen in a small town".

This was from another site I visit. Can you imagine?

I met him and his wife when he was a warm up act. I thought they were good kids, she was especially really a super nice young girl. I remember her talking about hoping they made enough money to get slightly bigger place as they had a baby or something. Anyway, he ditched her at his first opportunity and I lost a tremendous amount of respect for him.

I always got the impression he got the “big head syndrome”. (And he looks like a little troll or something)

But the most important thing about all of this is that it started a conversation.

Sure you do. Your programming tells you to overlook it apparently.

What’s your problem with vigilantism again. It’s been in rap since the 80’s.

Surely you want mass anger at the rap industry since you are now informed of it? Right? You angrily venturing over to other forums that glorify rap beating on that music?

Where was your outrage at the 2022 BET song of the year I posted? You have none? Why?

Don’t pull the “I don’t care for that either” card. You have spent pages trying to “educate” people.

Well educate us why vigilantism, violence, killing, gang glorification, drug use, gun violence, etc is just fine and dandy by the left? It’s given awards? When it comes from rap music?

Cmon. Education time. Educate us.

Cmon.. you self professed to not like the Andean song either.. but here you are. Page after page.

Educate us professor.

There are none so blind as those who will not see. I'll try this again:

It's a shite song and people feel the need to pretend it is a good one because Aldean has wallet chains and American Flag bandanas.

CMT is dumb for removing it. I'd imagine that the video wasn't doing well to begin with and when somebody complained they just pulled it without any thought. I haven't looked in to how well it was doing before the recreational outrage so IDK

pretty much this

So you just are at a mumble that “oh… *whispers* Look… umm.. to support my earlier programming regurgitation.. *lower whispers*. I don’t like that either.

Look. You came in here loaded and ready to attack. Page after page of attacks.

Then you get shown your utter hypocrisy and you are reduced to “*whisper*. Umm.. uhh.. not going to say anything about that other than I don’t agree. Just going to leave it at that”

We understand you have to regurgitate your programming. You are commanded too. You have to obey. We understand.

But if you didn’t care about either equally… you would have been silent on the Andean song too. Just like you are silent on the other.

Pointing out complete and utter hypocrisy you and your like minded people engage in is not strawman. It’s uncomfortable truth for you.

Vigilante and violent music has been mainstream since the 80’s. And what? Silence. Not only silence.. awards. Allowed glorification. Accolades unrestrained. Movie deals celebrated. Commercials. Endorsements. Halftime Super Bowl performances. Allllllllllllllll fine and dandy of a celebration of the violence you and your comrades all the sudden abhor.

But when the command is given for you to attack another genre, you get up and blast away.

Hypocrisy is a bitter pill to swallow. I can see why you are flailing a bit.

this music video "controversy" is just another example of how pussified this nation has become.

what kinda pussies feel like a bro country song is some kind of dog whistling racist attack?

also on the other side imagine telling a man in 700 BC that you were upset someone removed a music video from a TV channel that you don't even watch. (if you could somehow explain to him what either of those things were)

the "they are removing this video as an attack on our culture" crowd seems to be the louder side in this thread. If your culture is this awful jason aldean song I think you should reevaluate your life.
