It is not a well written or well done song but it is typical of modern country music. Why anyone is shocked that a sizeable number of country music fans would feel like it spoke their truth is whats amazing. You gotta know from talking to folks and listening to folks talk that there is a heaping pile of idiots in the United States who have concluded that the moronic takes in the song are reality. When you live in a bubble and are scared of everything that will happen to you. It is really a shame that so many people are suffering from the level or irrational fears that would prompt recording and marketing such tripe, but thats the world we live in and someone is going to make a buck on stoking those fears.

Ignore the videos of my fellow Progressives destroying innocent people's lives. That was all just your imagination. If you think that really happened, you are a small town hick.

Such a perfect response.

That's what I don't understand about the uproar. Everything he said in his song is true and growing up in a small town is much different than growing up in a city.

I just find it hypocritical that the same people ranting and raving over this song have no problem with the thug videos where the N word is used constantly, they degrade women and promote gangs and gun violence.

Now you are conflating an entire parish/county with a single town. Yes parts of Plaquemines Parish is considered part of the Greater NOLA Metropolitan area. But not all of it.

It’s just that they are not told to be angry over that. If it hit their programming… they would be on it in an instant. Just mass repeat of talking points and f applications of hysteria they are demanded to show.

And they always comply. Lock step.

It’s when they don’t have their answers provided.. they shut down and scram. They can’t handle objectionable thought. They need their guidance provided thought by thought.

That’s exactly how they stand and applaud when BET gives song of the year award to a song with violent lyrics with zero thought. They are told to applaud. They applaud.

They are told a country song is racist. They stand and call it racist. They are commanded… they obey.

Take this very thread. Limp wrist comes in.. throws around his programming…. Throws in the required “I’m smarter than you” farce… is outraged (as instructed).

Then met with a point outside of programming.

Attempted deflection. Shouldn’t have been needed due to his self professed intellect.

Can’t stick the deflection.

Runs away.

Every time. Every single time.

Why use a courthouse at all if the song is about vigilantism? Why use that courthouse?

Why was that courthouse used in the other examples provided to you in this post?

It's almost like you have a pre-determined reason, despite no evidence of it.

No facts. No logic. No rational analysis. Just party-line garbage.

You're a political hack. Period.

And yet another poster who's criticism amazingly only seems to go one way.

How did you feel about "Hands up, don't shoot?"

ITT, progressives are angry because they see racism everywhere, even where its not intended.

Because in the social media age, you always have to be outraged over something.

I think people are about fed up with the race and gender baiters. They already tried to ruin comedy.

Just laugh at them, we know they hate humor.

Did they? On any kind of scale which would indicate than anyone may be victimized in a similar fashion. The answer for the mathematically challenged among us is no, they did not. Folks died in a submarine just a few weeks ago...it happened. Is it any kind of threat to anyone specifically? Of course it isn't. The things that Aldean sings about in the song certainly take place. They are not widespread and unlikely to happen anywhere, small town or not. And it is about as certain as the sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening that some folks are convinced they are happening all day every day in cities across the United States and everyone is liable to become a victim. It is irrational fear and the song is stoking those fears for the one constant in American life and that is money...and I suspect going to do very well given the furor over it.

It is the same side of the coin...folks are scared that they are going to get gunned down by the police and folks are scared they are gonna get car jacked or sucker punched or see a flag burning...while the math suggests that all are about as likely to happen as getting hit by lightning...but irrational fears are nothing if not irrational.

The best one was the Washington Post woke writer who bitched about Tracy Chapman's song being covered by a country artist. The writer clearly had no clue about the original song's success (it is much better than the cover), wrongfully assuming that because Chapman is a "black lesbian" that the only way the song would have success would be to be covered by a straight white male.

Very common tactic of Progressives. "What you see isn't real....let me tell you what you really saw".

Been happening for years.
