Exactly. So it isn’t a racial song. It’s about the discord and crime. And small towns have their own issues, like drugs, but they won’t put up with Antifa or the thugs/carjacking.

What about the riot at the Capitol, what about these mass shootings in public places. why didn't those make the cut are these not relevant issues? ... This shitty song was directed at a specific demographics we all know that.

I grew up in a small town and what he talks about is true. We had a guy that invited the rioters and marchers of his day to come and try that shite here and see what happens. We had a Sheriff that would take people that came into Plaquemines Paris and committed murder or rape and put them on the "Midnight Ferry Ride". A ferry ride to the east bank court house that they would never complete.

That was expected from staunch segregationists down there.

Aldean is getting entirely too much credit.

He didn’t write it. He didn’t produce it. He simply read the words off of a sheet while they hit record. Then the label put it together and labeled it as his next single. Aldean literally has no say in any of this. It’s the Nashville machine. That’s how it goes.

If anyone wants to support or bash something it needs to be the record label.

The lyrics in this song are not opinion. This stuff absolutely will not happen in rural America.

Even Auburn, which is not a "small town" the way this song portrays, completely shut down antifa when they came around.

the number 1 song? all you need to deduce from this is America is fed up with the un warranted attacks on white people by race baiters. So they have supported his song by downloading it. The racist want the country divided. I know we all for the most part live in the racist south where we have weekly race riots and our inner cities are burned to the ground oh wait!

I think the person who directed the video knew about the history of the courthouse.
Who gives a frick?
Kinda the whole point of this thread is to discuss the "uproar over Jason Aldean's song." It's right there in the thread title.

Soooo, if the folks who made the video used the courthouse as a background because of its history with lynchings, that explains why there is an uproar.

Do you have more questions?

Pretty sure the media and gov jumps in on those quickly for the world to know. Quiet on what’s portrayed in this video.

Haven't heard the song but read the lyrics. They fall short. Half-assed at best. One verse is about it. Lazy songwriter.

Isn’t the song sort of like 500 other country songs written in the last 10 years? Small town values, pride in country, WE WILL LYNCH YOU IF YOU COME DOWN THE ROAD, etc.

Yes. Why do you allow a song to hurt your feelings?
