The Loop has been a godsend during this event.

Like nobody is using it.

Better yet, use state highways like LA 14 through Abbeville, Kaplan and Gueydan.

Will you poke around in the hammer lane 10 mph slower than the traffic flow like the other Texans do?

lol took my sister 2 1/2 hours to get from BR to Krotz Springs this morning
sounds like bs. She may have spent hour and a half if that in BR getting to 190.

190 westbound is bumper to bumper moving at a snails pace

Fricking red light in Livonia is clogging up traffic

They also go through small towns with red lights (and sometimes stop signs) that slow things down.

Just took 190 from BR to Deridder - took nearly 5 hours when it usually takes 3. It wouldn't have been too bad except for the lights in Livonia and the four way red light in Elton. Those brought everything nearly to a halt with the number of vehicles.

I expected more people to get off and take 49 toward Shreveport, but it seems most of it was people headed to Houston and bypassing I-10.

61

if you're going straight north, 61 is the road to take. if you're going to shreveport or Alex or somewhere take 61 to natchez and 84 over to Alex and hop on 49 in Alex.

well 84 to 28 to get to Pineville and go from there.

My source said 61 and 425 was clear to I-20. It's crazy people turn off their brain and say "interstate means I have to take it"

190 is slammed with people right now. Trying to run to Bourque's to pick up some supper, and it's a constant stream of cars at the light. And the light doesn't seem to be changing at all to let anyone else move.

I agree with trying to avoid interstates if you can. I did some extensive driving in Mississippi and north Louisiana and found traffic to be tolerable. Beware however, that there are speed traps in every small town that has a police officer. They are getting two me of that “out-of-town money”

Anyone know how HWY 90W is from the Huey P into Lafayette right now?

DOTD site says all green but skeptical
