If this happens, total overhaul on parameters needs to be done.
Slapping a DWI on someone who knows he overindulged and is sleeping it off in a parked car in a lot is fricked up.
Agree with a rapid ramp up after the first, although maybe not a permanent loss of license. That’s overly punitive.
Now years and years of an IID? Sure.

If your family was killed, would you really want to wake up? This would be unparalled pain. Innocent people killed due to a fricking drunk driver.
At least they still have other children.
Didn't the driver get killed,too? Hope so. Otherwise they would likely be back on the road in no time.

Just unbelievably tragic. And useless. Just a complete waste of 3 beautiful lives .
Lock that MF'er and throw away the key. But beforehand, they should be forced to attend the funerals of all 3 kids.

The drunk driver did die at the scene.
And they have other children and grandchildren but as a mother, no way in hell would that replace those killed.

The drunk driver must have entered 49 wrong way through an exit. IIRC the median is super wide in that area.

Should make it 100% illegal to ever drink alcohol and then drive.. like not even a sip of beer, then get behind the wheel of a 3,000 lb weapon…. I know, muh nanny state.. there’s just no reason any human being in the year 2022 (almost) ever needs to drink after driving… Just becuase that’s the way it’s always been ? Bullshirt…. Take an Uber, drink at home, designate a stone cold sober driver, walk to and from the bar, take public transportation- the options are endless…. Your right to drink (AT ALL) and drive does not preclude my right to stay alive…. You know how many people ive met in my life who “think theyre ok” to drink after “a beer or two” which then leads to 3 or 4 or 5 drinks ? A thousand.. ive probbaly met a thousand people like that, and theyre all Aholes.. including myself, i used to be one of those people til i woke the frick up.
