Hopefully your wife doesn't force it on you, it'll just cause arguments.

I keep telling her this, that if I come home from work one day to find a dog in the house we're going to have problems.

Wow. Overreach much? I don't hate responsibility, I just hate dogs inside my house. Especially at this point in my life when I have too many other responsibilities.

I don't know what a dog has ever done to you but you sure don't like dogs. You're coming off as a whiny bitch, really. Don't think your wife hasn't noticed how much of a prima donna you're being.

What's funny is that once you eventually give in to the idea of having the dog inside and that cute motherfricker greets you at the door everyday, snuggles with you, and you learn how much personality it has, you're going to want another dog.

Anyone who is reluctant to get a dog is probably a psychopath

I don't think so, let me check nah, I have a wife and dogs, just saying you'll be beaten into submission on this one, women, and a lot of pussies on here, think that dogs are humans and it's cruel to make them brave the elements, like they are designed to be able to comfortably abide in

It's like a fricking cult. My siblings both have dogs and they fricking bring their dogs with them every where they go. Like they're kids. I'm not talking small breeds - adult lab and Louisiana Catahoula dogs. They fricking load them up into their vehicles and bring them to my parents' house when we all go eat there. Like, really? Come on, man. Funny thing is my brother never would've done something like that and would've laughed his arse off at someone doing that before he got a dog.

This is something my wife just can't fathom. An animal is an animal - I don't care how much you love them. If I wake at night to find my house on fire, I'm getting my kids and wife out. If the pet doesn't follow us out the door or window then peace out! Not going back in for an animal. I mean don't get me wrong, I'd hope they get out too but I'm saving my family first and I'm not risking having my children grow up without a dad just because I went back in a burning building for a damn animal.

It is obvious that you don't want a dog at all.

I don't think it is fair to the dog that your idea of compromise is the dog gets left out (even if you have a room for it to go in during harsh weather).

Either give the wife what she wants and deal with it or put your foot down and be a man and say no.
