Yea you get to go pick it up with a plastic bag outside if you walk it or shovel it in your yard.

I’ve never known anyone with an inside dog who’s house didn’t smell like a dog regardless of how often they bathed it.

Keep that dog outside as much as possible if you value the inside of your house. If you are ok with dog hair, torn up items, accidents on the floor, then bring him inside. Your house will smell.
We kept our dog outside strictly for 10 years. It was great. He loved it. We brought him inside the last three years of his life. We loved the dog but he was a lot of work and was constantly begging to go back outside anyways. For the most part he slept indoors at night and stayed inside when it was bad weather.
At a young age and healthy keep him outside all the time.

Wow. That's a bit extreme. It doesn't sound like his preferences are ideal for dog ownership because he doesn't want added pet responsibility. That's pretty reasonable to decide before getting a pet.
I wish more neglectful pet owners would have thought through pet ownership a bit more before buying/adopting one.

You're extremely unreasonable. If you agree to let your wife get the dog then take care of the damn thing and don't throw it outside. If you live in the country its one thing but if not train the dog up and let it stay inside. Also air purifiers do wonders for the smells.

In my husky example, that's certainly true.
Now you could definitely argue that you shouldn't get a husky if you live in a super hot climate.

it has been in the 20s at my place. I go outside to fill my 2 labs house with hay for insulation for them to keep warm.. And i hear SPLASH (i have a kiddie pool in the fenced in yard for them) They are both jumping in the pool playing, 9pm at night, 20 deg. They dont gaf about cold. They love it! On the 2 or 3 days a yr we have super cold days i make sure i go out to bust the ice in the pool for them in the morning, and before i can my female is jumping in busting it with her feet. Dogs are bred for that shite.

My dog does not tear shite up, nor does he have accidents inside, nor does my house smell like a dog. It's extra responsibility to clean up his hair, but that's part of ownership.
It's all about consistency with them. Y'all changed up your dog's life by bringing him inside after letting him be an outside dog for years. Few dogs will adjust well to an abrupt change like that. That was your fault, not his.
