To each his own. We bring our dog to daycare as well. We are gone for 13 hours on work days. It's easier for everyone involved. He is crate trained, but if you can afford to pay daycare and have your pet socialize with other pups as well as exercise, it is a win-win.

Yup I try to twice a week for my dogs. They love going and daycare is really good for socializing your dog with other dogs and new people.
Our first dog was a rescue and daycare played a large part in ridding her of her fear aggression.

I don't mind the RA because it came across as very unprovoked, but I don't think "count" is an off limit word.
Back on subject, I'm looking at getting a pug, any advice on breed quirks?

Pugs are awesome
But....
They are stubborn and shed a ton. They are very much Velcro dogs in that they have to be by you whenever you are home. But they are also very charming dogs. They are full of personality and will always make you laugh.

My dog has a dog walker three days a week. $25/day

Thanks! I'm trying to learn as much as possible about them... it's my first dog that I'm solely repsonsible for.

They are super cute as puppies. Please post a pic if you get a pug puppy.

This is what we originally thought we'd do. Once we figured out that it was almost as much to have someone come and walk him for 15 minutes as it was for him to play outside all day at the daycare place, we went that route.
May have to get a walker now though, at least for a day or two a week.

ETA - pugs are by far the ugliest fricking dogs on the planet. Every time I see one I just want to kick it.

The dogwalker actually takes him to the park for an hour, so he gets to run around with his buddies.
I think doggie daycare is around $45-50/day here

Nah, mine has never had any issues with his skin
You do have to make sure and keep all the skin folds on their face clean though.
