Only out of necessity for me. Our dog only goes to daycare about 1-2 a week now. Don't get me wrong, we're big dog people, but we largely do it out of guilt for adopting a dog w/ our work schedules and for lack of good alternatives.

Many doggy daycares board dogs as well. So you know when you board your dog there that they are not just being locked up in a cage the whole time...that they are able to play with other dogs and socialize as well.

Now that we stopped taking him in large part, we pretty much do.

What? You want a dog that doesn't freak out anytime another dog is around? If so, you want it to socialize with other dogs. That is why dog parks are great as well.

Sorry you hate animals.

Yes, I do. It cost me $1500. One time fee. I get to use it when she's not using it. Here's a picture of what she looks like for roughly 8-12 hours/day at "daycare."

Hint: she doesn't go to daycare. She sleeps her lazy arse on the couch all day and night

Ours is a big chain in our city (and Dallas now), and they're pretty good. Over 100 a day for daycare, and that is one of like 6 locations.

Not to add to my already awful reputation for being an idiot on this subject, but when our dog was going every day he was in the "athletic club" which means that instead of designated times to go out and play, they stay outside pretty much all day. So he was basically out there with the same 20-30 dogs all day, every day. It's extra money, as you'd prob assume.

My dog looks down on other dogs. She has a certain degree of self-entitlement. Therefore she doesn't socialize with other dogs. She prefers to socialize with people instead.

Mine gets up and walks away when another dog lays next to him. Clearly the daycare is not for his socialization, which is beyond fricked

Well I feel lied to now

Our lab does the same thing when we are gone as well. He's never torn anything up in the house so he's allowed free roam. Our pug...totally different story. Love the little guy...but he's a pug and they are notorious for randomly peeing inside just to be assholes...so in the crate he goes whenever we are gone or asleep.
