Today while walking one of my dogs (4 year old Akita) a nice gentlemen pulled up in his car to compliment the dog, asked what breeder she came from, cost, etc. Got me thinking-- what would be the cost to sell her on the spot? Don't get me wrong, I love my dogs just as much as the next guy, but if this guy says okay here's $50k- I would pack Fluffy up in a heartbeat.

So what's your price to dump Spot?
20k?
Cost of replacement and a sixer of Bud Ice?

Don't give me that "there's no amount of money" I would take bullshite. Everything has a price.

There is no realistic amount because no one is going to offer me 20k for a dog I paid 120 for

I loved my dogs as much as anyone, but for the right price...Yeah I would.

I have no idea what that price would be.

An old neighbor of mine actually offered to buy my last dog. I didn't give him a price.

He went out and bought one identical, except a male. It was even a few years old instead of a pup.

God I've dreamed about this scenario except instead of the dog it's my wife and kids.

It'd have to be an on the spot decision. And it'd have to be in cash. And it would have to be A LOT of cash.

In earnest, it would have to be enough so that I could hire an expert to capture my fur brother back from the crazy person and have enough left over to have a hookers and blow party with him.

There isn't. Sorry. My dog is as much a part of my family as the wife or kid. I've had him longer than either of them.

I once sold a beagle in a garage sale for $50. True story.

Nobody is going to offer you 10-20x more than you paid for a dog. Probably someone who wants an Akita and was curious about the breeder you got it from.

Realistically, there isn't an amount of money one would pay me. No one is going to give me $100,000 for a beagle that's only real value lies in the fact that I love it; he's a rescue and isn't trained to hunt or be a show dog. Yes, everyone has a price for everything but, especially when attachments and emotions are involved, a lot of times that price is not a realistic one.

first off, how do you know who you are selling your dog to and what they're going to use it for?

would NEVER sell one of the pups anyway, but the one thing in Mississippi if that someone approaches you with such a proposition, odds are it's linked to dog fighting

If I ever win the lotto I'll probably go around offering huge amounts of money to buy people's dogs on the spot. Then I'll probably put them down right then and there to make people realize the harm of their greed.
