I've seen a lady with a small dog (less than 8 pounds) bring her non-fixed male into the large dog portion of the dog park. He bit at a doberman, who snapped back killing the dog purely by accident. Horrible situation, but frick that woman bringing that small dog where it didn't belong.

Never fails to amaze (and aggravate) me how unaware of the potential for catastrophe there is, whenever they bring their little yapsters into places where they can encounter unfamiliar large dogs. Especially because the little ones are often the ones who exhibit aggressive behaviors first, thus all but sealing their fates.
I walk my 80 lb Shepherd on a leash in my neighborhood daily. Never fails that we go by someone walking their small dog. Mine has mellowed with age and is willing to ignore the smaller dog and go about her business - unless it starts yapping at her in some small dog histrionic way. Then the hackles may raise, the challenge is perceived, feet are planted, eyes riveted, and a soft gutteral rumble may commence. Often the little dog owner will then say, "Oh, it's ok, little Fifi won't hurt you." They never see the doom that could soon befall bold but dumbly yapping little Fifi, should it be silly enough to break free of its leash to launch a suicidal strike at my dog's perceived "space".

Ugh. Dog parks. We always tell our clients to avoid them. It’s a good way to get your dog sick with stuff like giardia. We had one client who took her Boston and he was playing with another dog with a toy. A kid got too close and got nicked by a tooth. Nothing major, and the Boston was fully up on his shots. Still, animal control made her quarantine the dog with us for 10 days. He was not allowed to leave his cage for any reason. Poor little guy was absolutely miserable for those 10 days. And the messes weren’t fun to clean up either.

Please don’t take your dogs to dog parks.

Possibly get bit by a snake, gored by a pig, shot, step in a game trap, get Lyme disease from a tick, get lost, etc running around on acreage.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Saw a dude walk up to a pit bull mix that was "engaged" with his dog and pick it up and body slam it like it was the WWE. He looked straight at the owners, man and wife and said if you won't control your dogs behavior, I will.

That dog was no longer looking to engage.
