Possibly just a fat pocket. My dog had them all over her body as she got older. She lived to 15 years old and was a full-blooded, 100 pound yellow lab.

My weimaraner is a big ole boy..he's 7 1/2 and has a nice sized squishy ball on his neck and a small on on his stomach by a nipple. I was worried. But then I remembered my weim growing up got them all the time too. He lets me squeeze the shite out of just to see if it's painful and it doesn't bother him. Vet confirmed the smaller one was just a fat buildup that is common with dogs/cats/girls in kentucky, etc. That one looks huge though, but probably just a pig fat pustule. Fatty tumor. Could be not much, could be very serious. Get to the vet as soon as you can.

Cancerous tumors are usually hard. Abscess or lipoma-fatty tumor are my thoughts.

Most likely Lipoma, fatty tumor that is benign

But apparently the huge thing appeared overnight. Most likely it's some sort of fluid collection.

Did it get that big in one day? It takes very little time at the vet to aspirate a sample and get an initial idea of what it is. If it doesn't appear to be fat, they will send it off to the lab. Due to the size and location of that one, even if it is just fat they may want to remove it.
I'm sure you won't, but don't listen to the advice on lancing it yourself! You just don't know what you're dealing with under there and would open up your dog to a high chance of infection.

My dog had multiple of these. She was just fine for years. I would get her to the vet to get them taken care of every once in awhile.
Vet never said why, just that some dogs are genetically more prone than others.
