Does your workplace do Drug Tests?

Which industry do you work for and have you had any experiences with drug tests at your workplace?
Can’t believe we are almost in the 2020s and some of the workplaces out there still do hair/urine tests for even drugs that are legalized in many states. I get it that you shouldn’t be high at work but what if you did it in your own free time on vacation 5 days ago...

Employers should be able to set any expectation they want with respect to employment.

Last one I had was in 2014, for a homebuilder. Since then I've worked for a media company and two consultancies and they didn't test.
One of them wouldn't hire anyone with a DUI, though.

I took one when I started. We don't have random ones or at least I've never heard of anyone getting one in the 7 years I've been here.

Random drug test done quarterly. It seems like there should be a better way to test for weed/THC. If you smoke today, 3 weeks from now it can show up. There should be a THC test that can determine if a person smoked in the last 72 hrs. Most other drugs are only in your system for 72 hrs.

Yes. Medical. My experience has been positive because I’m not an idiot that does drugs and I enjoy my career.

I contract maintenance work to the food industry and since I am my own boss I don't do drug tests. I don't test my employees either. Probably would have to fire all of them if I did.

Depending on what refinery I have to go to, I have to take either a hair or piss test to be in DISA.

yes, every company i have worked for over the last 20 years or so has done drug testing
