My parents half-heartedly did when I was a kid. I don’t as an adult based purely on laziness I guess.

Isn’t a scam anyway? Don’t we just pay China to dump it in the ocean?

My brother did some extensive Consulting work for a recycling center in Denver, CO and he learned that 80% of the recyclables they took in got sent off to the local Dump because the demand for recyclables isn't as high as everyone wants you to think.

Its basically a money making operation.

Awesome!

I can’t imagine anyone who would think a money losing operation make any sense.

I recycle everything I can. Is it a perfect system? Probably not. But it is a good start that will get better over time.

If they gave us a recycle bin and picked up the recyclables curbside similar to another service oh yeah garbage pickup then we would use it until then it goes in the trash.

Investment in USA Recycling plants is booming since the chinese stopped taking our recyclables.

About $1 billion in investment in U.S. paper processing plants has been announced in the past six months, according to Dylan de Thomas, a vice president at The Recycling Partnership, a nonprofit organization that tracks and works with the industry. Hong Kong-based Nine Dragons, one of the world's largest producers of cardboard boxes, has invested $500 million over the past year to buy and expand or restart production at paper mills in Maine, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

If I can keep one sea turtle from dying from eating plastic straws and water bottle caps, I can sleep better knowing we are making a difference in the world.

I brought home half a recycle bin from north LA relatives yesterday.

It’s all good.
