If they gave us a recycle bin and picked up the recyclables curbside similar to another service oh yeah garbage pickup then we would use it
They don't do this where you live?
We get a massive large pink garbage looking bin on wheels that is used for recycling. Picked up curbside weekly.

Of course we recycle. What do you think we are—fat?

We use the light grey recycle trash can for paper, plastic and aluminum and then put it by the curb. So I guess call 311 and ask them if we do in fact, recycle.

People do have to realize that if they throw the wrong stuff in the recycling bin that it can make an entire load be rejected for recycling.
Have listened to a couple of podcasts more in depth on recycling. Many people throw takeout pizza boxes thinking they are doing good.....when really they are possibly causing a large chunk of stuff that could be recycled to not be.
Greasy takeout boxes cannot be recycled.

Recycle cans, mostly beer cans. Buys me a couple of cases in 6 month.

I recycle cans and plastic grocery bags.WalMart has box for the bags.Cans I take and sell about once a year.I hate to see aluminum go in the trash.I never tried to recycle plastic bottles or glass.

Yes. Why not if you already get a curbside recycle bin? But like earlier poster said, most people put things in bin that are contaminated or not recyclable.

I did recycle until I watched the garbage men dump all three containers in the back of the truck with the regular garbage one day.

It’s just not economically viable.

I do. Not a lib, but if I love animals and if I can help save their habitats (even if its not much) I can sleep better

Sounds like the city needs to improve their rejection policy.

Aluminum and glass are 100% recyclable. Only 30% of plastic bottles are. Throw your plastic bottles in the trash. Well over 70% end up in landfills anyways. Need to go back to using glass bottles.

I recycle all the time. shite tons of cardboard boxes from Amazon, Chewy, etc.
If you knuckleheads aren't going to recycle, at least put your damn trash in a trash can.

Yes so I can tell guests when they are about to throw something in the garbage can (recycle can is in a different location) that it’s recycle so I can show others how much better I am than them.
On a serious note, I didn’t realize until recently that the processing system doesn’t allow bags of recyclables, such as the grocery store sacks, to be processed. Same goes with just loose bags. They take it from you with the rest, but once there they say that it can invalidate an entire lot of recycled material.

If somebody can make some money of the process and it's not based on bullshite it can and will work.
There are recycle bins (which are frequently emptied by people making money off the materials deposited) all over the places I live and work; so it's a matter of recognizing there are metal-junk, paper-junk and plastic-junk versus GP-rubbish bins and throwing shite into the correct hole. Worst case: you have to tear some shite apart before sending the parts into the right orifice.
I don't claim I'm "saving the planet"... that sounds like virtue signalling. Besides the Earth hates us all and wants to wipe us out, anyway. I'm just trying to keep the place from getting too trashy and turning into a terrestrial scale shite-hole.

Yeah we still do. Just a habit at this point. And plastic and glass take a lot of room away in a trashcan... id rather have a different can where I can dump the plastic in the recycle bin whenever it fills up.
