Also the lamp is on the right side, so a left-handed person while writing wouldn't have the shadow of their shoulder like a right-handed person would

Was the other flip flop stolen?

quote:No, if she was facing away from the mirror with the gun in her right hand (the only way a suicide is possible), it would have ejected that way.
Murder. No way the bullet casing would have ejected out of the gun and onto the shelf if she committed suicide as it is staged. It would have ejected the opposite way.

quote:IMO this is the best evidence that she's left-handed, because I can't think of how I'd take off glasses with my right hand and set them down like that. The lenses would be pointing 90 degrees clockwise from their current orientation, or I'd flip them upside down. But I would never set them down like that.
Also, the angle of the position of the glasses indicates that she took them off and set them down with her left hand

quote:She obviously didn't do that because the bloodstain is on the same wall as the mirror.
No, if she was facing away from the mirror with the gun in her right hand (the only way a suicide is possible), it would have ejected that way.
edit: I'm assuming the light blood thing is what you're calling a mirror. The dark thing is a window imo. But if she faced away from that window then the shell casing probably doesn't land there... but could have according to the shell casing study I posted on the last page

Yeah, I'm not sure which one it is, but it does look like there's a shadowy figure with a gun in it. I think this may be much simpler than we think it is.

2 things that have already been mentioned but is what I was going to say. There is no way (in my vast crime novel and tv show experience) that she holds on to the gun after shooting herself, much less a lit cigarette. Also (again, if books and tv shows are to be trusted), it isn't often where someone kills themselves in their own home with shoes on.
Just my very uneducated opinion, murder

It depicts a terrible painting

By the way, is there an answer to this or just a dumb social experiment? Because I stand by my original answer on page 1 if it's the latter.
But if it's the former, the latch on the window appears to be unlatched, but the window is closed. Could indicate someone sneaking in and out the window, therefore "murder"

Agree with the people saying a 187. She could have done it with her back to the window, but I don't see how her right hand could have fallen under the shelf without knocking the gun loose.
Based on the position of the paper, she's right handed. Imagine trying to write on a paper with your left hand when it's sitting at that angle.

Suicide. She took off her glasses

Oh wait. I just figured it out. The painting seems to depict a womanwith a gun in her hand, so the logical answer is suicide.
But if you read the paper on the table very closely, it's a receipt from a pharmacy for Plan B, so the true answer is murder! Pay attention to details, people.

BTW for people saying she couldn't hold onto the gun after suicide, it's not true. Look up "cadaveric spasm"
I found a research article that documents homicides and suicides, with pictures (yes it is gruesome), and there was a case of a suicide by shooting in which the victim was still gripping the gun

Assuming she was sitting on the chair the blood spatter would indicate she shot herself with her left hand. Gun is in her right
Only if she was facing the mirror. If she were facing away from the mirror, the blood spatter would be where it is if she shot herself with her right hand.

Murder woman don't shoot themselves, that's a guy thing.

quote:She doesn't necessarily have to have been doing them at the same time.
The cigarette is in her left hand and ash tray to the left, so she was likely writing with her right.
quote:My brother and father are left handed. The paper angle is consistent with the goofy way they contort their wrists to write. Anyway, it's very awkward to put down a pair of glasses in that angle with your right hand.
The angle of the paper also suggests she is right handed.
And there's the cigarettes, ash tray and beverage on the left as well.
