No snowboarding. If you’re a liberal stay put. If not yes Texas has some really nice places outdoors. That’s why so many of your fellow state residents are moving to Austin it looks like the valley around there.

East Texas has lots of piney woods and an abundance of lakes. A few hills and not far from Houston or Dallas. Plus it's close to Louisiana, that right there would be a no brainer.

If you’re a full-stack developer- West Austin/Dripping Springs is beautiful and you can do all the hiking, camping, etc you want out there. Drop your email and I’ll send you some info.

Move to NW Arkansas and go work for Walmart or something. Another option is Chattanooga or East TN, west North Carolina... Those parts. There are some tech jobs there got a friend bout move out that way.

I've only ever been to Knoxville, but I think based on what I've seen I'd move to Chattanooga tomorrow if given the right opportunity. NW Arkansas/SW Missouri is just awesome. Tons of natural beauty. Hills, lakes, greenery. A hiker's dream, a fisherman's paradise.

Lived in Texas for a while. No its really not that pretty. There are areas that are nice but not a quick drive. I love hiking trails and trees and that is slim in Texas.
NE Alabama, East Tenn, N. Georgia, North Carolina, are way better if that is the type of scenery you like.

Sure it does. I believe the only problem is that, given the massive size of the state and where the majority of its population lives, these areas are predominately secluded from the population. For example, Big Bend is an 8+hour drive from Houston and Dallas.
Also, the weather is so unforgivable, I can't imagine hiking in Big Bend would be too much fun 7 months out of the year.
