Probably more than any other state. But other than that, none.

Chicken fried steak is legally classified as a vegetable in Texas.

Well, if Texans actually can and actually do send their children to public school and those schools are quality schools, that's one huge redeeming quality they have over Louisiana right now.

There is your problem. Dallas in the core is pretty good. Lots of great walkable neighborhoods, cafes, bars restaurants..... The suburbs suck balls.

Where in the hell are you located, boy? Sounds like Corsicana, which is an ugly (and rough) town.

I prefer the Texas that existed pre-Yankee, pre-Californian, pre-Louisianian and especially pre-Katrina. Katrina nearly took the Texas public school system to its knees.

Really weren't that many Mexicans up this way until the late 1990s.

But we're chock full of them now.

So you spent a few days in a town of 12,000 people and think that's a good representation of the state as a whole?

No, I've been to numerous cities in Texas for work and pleasure. Every time I'm more than happy to return to Louisiana, and I'm not a huge fan of Louisiana at times either.

I’d take Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida over Texas any day of the week.

I would rather live in Tx than La, when I retire I will have a place on the Tx side of Toledo Bend.

Best fishing and hunting in the nation.

You are right. It is terrible. The worst. Please do not move here, and tell your friends how bad it is.
