That's what I meant to the other fella as well.
Someone tells me they've heard and dont believe, ok fine. I mean, obviously, I would hope they'd heed Th Word, but at that point, it's out of my hands, and in His.
Me yelling at them through a microphone isnt likely to change their minds.
Plus, no way I could do that and not spill my beer.

Being an atheist doesn’t make me mad. It makes me very sad for that person that they are quite blinded an unable to see the obvious before their very eyes.
But that’s just first base to recognize and admit what we see before us is all by design, and not by some insanely unrealistic coincidence of which there are no examples to draw from anywhere.
The real struggle comes between man trying to ascend to God through his efforts to be good, or earn something and God’s plan for you to believe upon Christ instead. That’s where the battle takes place in man’s mind, and that’s the real difference in between religions and true faith and God’s plan for mankind.

Question for the religious: If an atheist lives a great and virtuous life, does he still go to hell just because he never "believed?" And on the flip, do people who are born in predominantly non-Christian areas of the world and raised in a different religion eligible to go to heaven, or did they just lose the biological lottery and are damned to hell? Genuinely curious.

My hope is this, but the people with the signs and loudspeakers are only in the minority of the offenders.
Outside of some extremely remote locations, you can pretty much safely assume that everyone has heard the word at this point in the information age, so inquiring about someone's faith specifically in hopes of a possible conversion or similar in mind can come off as condescending and is in line with some of the gripes you see in this thread from agnostics and atheists.
If religion naturally comes up in conversation, all good, but normal Christians trying to "spread the word" because their church and scriptures told them to do so are the most common offenders, not just the people with the signs.
We're in agreement as far as I can tell, but I thought that was a worthwhile distinction.

No, but when they try to give me grief for being Christian, then I get mad.

Can you see how this can come off as condescending? What may appear obvious to you has been deeply considered by others, who are not "blinded", and have come to a different conclusion, and that's ok.
At least in my experience, the closer you look at just about anything, from physics to evolutionary processes to human nature to something as seemingly simple as a cardboard box, the more complex and less obvious everything becomes. And just because it's complex and I don't fully understand it yet doesn't mean I should attribute it to some grand creator designing every detail, but often the opposite.

Not at all. The ones who are condescending and smug about it just make me pity them.

When they have to talk about it, yes. But it doesn’t have to be just an atheist, everyone should keep their personal bs to themselves.

This is such a wild line, because when you apply it as an atheist would, that same feeling you have about being sad that they are blind is the one they have about you.
Sad that you can't face the reality that your life is meaningless and once you're dead it ends and you're forgotten.
This is the sort of line that atheists can't stand, because it postulates that not only do you know better, you also have an innate sense that they don't. Which is silly. You're just delusional.
But hey, to each their own

I am an atheist/agnostic.
Someone's religious beliefs dont make me mad unless they try to insist theirs is the correct one and force it on others against their will, or use it as a cudgel to pass government law or influence normal societal operations.

Religion threads are often previously played out and don’t last very long. Don’t take it personally.

I know, they bring up truths that don't fit the dollar. It only makes my point.

Why rage against the machine? People who hate Christianity are essentially supporting debauchery and mistreatment fo their fellow man.

For the most part, they are raging against those who are in power and use their religion as a bludgeon.
I have my personal issues with Christian dogma, but that’s far outside the scope of this thread.
