Jesus Talk guy isn't bad these days.

He literally just sits there reading his newspaper until somebody wants to go sit next to him and talk about whatever.

Still there. Both my kids go to LSU and they send me video clips from some crazies every once in a while.

When I was there in the late 90’s there was always this cult leader looking dude, dressed in white robes with long white hair. He would bring his family with him, all lined up next to him in their white robes while he called everyone that walked by a whore.

I remember Jeff Duhe’ as this. He’d wear some Salvation Army purchased semi-military jacket and attempt to bring some order to the chaos, standing on the bench with his list of who’s next.

Back in 2004, I got served a massive fine/ticket for having a huge Axe product + gift package giveaway in The FSA because I didn't have a permit.
Imagine that-you needed a permit to give stuff away in the FSA, as a full-time student..

favorite memories:

the guy without a shirt with a chain wrapped around his neck who would yank on the chain and scream about reagan and oliver north. called himself the 'gorilla poet' or something like that.

mark tullis taking all his SGA paychecks and cashing them into $1 bills and throwing them into the air (making it rain before that was a thing)

"jerry kids" and the 'i fricked angele graves' song

me and a friend popping out of the nearby union draped head to toe in toliet paper to hide our identity and throwing out fake 'dude you're huge' flyers we made on the copy machine at the catholic student union and making everyone think some new club was coming to town

students getting red-faced trying to argue with brother jeb & sister suzie not even realizing how badly they were getting trolled and me laughing my arse off.

They had the silent preachers who would just wait until you got close enough to hand you a mini bible Before you even know what happened

Then you’re like wtf do I do with a mini bible? And stack it with the other 10 you’ve been handed that semester

You have to be retarded to think A) You have any chance of converting someone and B) That yelling at people is how the "real" Jesus would want you to accomplish evangelicalism

That's essentially what Paul and the other apostles did. They'd stand up and preach to a hostile crowd. Sometimes they got shouted down, beat up, arrested, or killed. God doesn't promise anyone will be converted, or even listen. He just commands that you preach the gospel.

I'm not claiming these guys couldn't do some refining of their message. But there's precedent for what they do, from the earliest days of Christianity.

Brother Jed is a very very smart guy, BTW. He can joust with the hecklers and give as good as he gets. He can also discuss deep theological concepts in an academic setting. There are some interesting youtubes of him.

Were thy yelling at the gentiles that they are going to hell because they are bad people?

I doubt it. Anyone who thinks yelling at others about how they are shitty is a good way to convert them to a different religion is fricking stupid. Shyster, doomsayer, blasphemer, hypocrite? All 100%. Smart? Questionable at best.
