Does LSU offer deferred admission to incoming freshmen?

Daughter might wait a year before starting, and LSU's website doesn't contain any obvious information about deferring admission.
Anyone been down that road?

Try calling the admissions office.

That totally depends on whether your daughter is a SJW or not.

Yes LSU does. I actually work in the admissions office. Have her send her application and pics directly to me for consideration.

As long as that payment’s not deferred, I bet anything goes.

Pics, and I'll let you know.

Yall are literally Ice Cold to The Ice Man.
I'm just chiming in to say that I WISH I had taken a year off before starting LSU. my overall gpa was a 2.99 b/c of that first year where I made a 2.0 and 1.3 in Fall and Spring.
Waiting a year is good for some kids.

Yeah, buncha fricking clowns up in here. Taking notes...

Don’t let her take a year off. She’ll be stripping in no time and won’t make it to school in a year

Make sure she atleast takes some CC courses if she decides to wait a year. Academics are extremely perishable and you can save some change also.

Blackish has taught me that taking a gap year is always a bad idea

That would be another thing to ask LSU Admissions Office...I think some schools would consider her a transfer student if she takes classes elsewhere when she defers.

What I meant to say was "I'm not qualified enough to answer this question. Perhaps there's an individual within the admissions office who posts here and could chime in".
By the way, there are MULTIPLE individuals within the admissions office who post here.

She won’t go to college after taking a year “break”

Yes, this is very good advice.
As the parent, you are best able to assess whether she really should take a gap year. What are her plans for the year? Does she have any medical conditions that would warrant taking some time off to rest, heal, etc.? If she hasn't even thought about how she's going to spend the year, a thorough discussion is important and as soon as possible. She shouldn't imagine that it will be a nice, long one-year summer vacation.
You should clearly set out what your expectations are and come up with a plan to make sure she has a reason to get up every morning and contribute to the household.
I have done some informal college advising and a gap year can be very beneficial......if done for the right reasons. It can also be a huge problem if the right parameters aren't discussed and set.
Having her take some community college courses, as recommended above, is an excellent idea. It's only too easy to forget how to study and lose what has been learned.
Good luck with it all!
