There are few states that have any real semblance of a state identity and pride outside of Louisiana, California, Texas, Alaska, New Jersey, and New York.

If Louisianians really took pride in the state, then why is it in the shape it is in?

Dirty streets, bad roads, trashy highways, no green laws, giant billboards everywhere, no buried power lines or network infrastructure.

Uncut medians, bayous and canals that are full of growth and debris.

We only take pride in alcohol and food, oh and LSU football. Which is not a bad thing, but for everything else, we suck.

Have you seen this fricking place? What would make you believe that the population has pride in its state?

South Louisiana is its own unique place with a proud people.

North Louisiana just feels like it’s part of Mississippi at this point.

North Louisiana does feel like more of the rest of the South to me but I've always found the people to be nice. I've never understood the hate. It's just different than parts of South Louisiana.

You obviously are not very familiar with the State of South Carolina.

OG Colony, fired first shots against federal overreach and the NWO.

Great coast, proud people, three outstanding cities.

We've got work to do too but we all get along here, relish our rich history and we generally pull together in times of good and bad.

One incident I always cited that tells most all they need to know.

When that racist frick Dylan Roof murdered those poor Emanuel Church goers in cold blood ... there were no riots, no burnings, no racial tension .... we all pulled together and got through it.

Any other state might very well have suffered a different outcome.

Very valid point. Actually, you could separate Mississippi into North, Central and South.

Pride is most seen in football, mainly LSU. The entire state got into it.

Well, yes. LA people have a ton of state pride and I can see why. It's like when you see a pink hair tattoo'd girl on Tinder. You know? Chubby thing taking overheads. They always call themselves a Diva.

Family, food, and football (LSU). That’s how I grew up and raising my kids same way.... with religion and outdoors... that’s my Louisiana way. And The north vs south LA is total BS, same passion and pride, Just may talk different
