I hate being late for anything. When I tell someone that I will meet them at such-and-such a time, I try to be there at least five minutes early.

I have a friend who told me a story about a former acquaintance of his who was chronically late when meeting his friends for anything. He said one time, he and another friend were meeting up with this guy for lunch at a restaurant, and they had to wait 15 minutes past the agreed time before the guy came rolling into the parking lot. His explanation for his lateness was that he stopped for a loaf of bread on the way in because he didn't want to do that on his way home.

I'm generally anywhere from 1 to 2 hours late for work but I'm early to everything else.

I give people a one hour time window, say 10-11 at 10:03 I get calls "are you still coming??" drives me insane. I blanket add $40 to their bill for annoying me. Thats "labor"

Industry standard is 3-4 hour time window.

With the way the traffic in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas is so unpredictable, you can't show up anywhere right on time anymore. You have to be either 15 mins early, or late.

I think some people refuse to buy into this, and think they can pull off showing up right on time. At least this is my theory.

What bothers me more is doctors and dentist offices telling you to arrive 15 min early, but they never see you until 15-30 min after your scheduled time.
Yeah those medical people really should stick to schedule and just drop everything they are doing to meet said schedule.

Let's only enforce the schedule when YOU are said patient so you only get exactly 15 minutes for whatever your problem is, period, no slack, ever. Sorry about that heart attack, no time for CPR, buh bye. Stroke? Auto accident? Reaction to medication? Sorry, schedule dictates you only get a few minutes. Bleed on your own time.

You don't schedule appointments in the ER dummy. I said doctor and dentist offices and you made an irrelevant statement... good job

My dad taught me if you are not 10 minutes early you are late. Was never late for anything in 35 years of working at various jobs.

There's a great deal of time in a man's life where he waits on a woman.

As far as others, it doesn't really bother me because there are a myriad of issues that could happen to cause the tardiness that are completely out of their control.

Or they could be terrible at time management and selfish and have no respect for the agreed upon time. Being late is not a good characteristic.

I'm very punctual. On those rare occasions I'm running a little late to meet a friend for lunch or something of that nature I always send a text saying something like "running like 3 minutes late". I don't think I've ever been more than 5 minutes late.

I don’t live under the control of a watch or the magic time someone else tells me to be somewhere. I’m a little wild, sometimes bad, and often late, but no one can tell me what to do. Capiche?

If you're in healthcare, there's nothing more infuriating than patients that are late and still expect to be allotted their full appointment time.

You have some sort of ailment that was serious enough for you to call in and make an appointment, and you can't be bothered to make that the focus for one day? If you can't make it on time it's not difficult to reschedule. Fricking respect people's time.

Hey, guys! Sorry I'm late for this thread. I thought I had plenty of time, but got caught in traffic on the information superhighway. You know how it is. I guess you started without me. That's cool.
