quote:It was mostly a joke, but the thought behind it is sincere. If someone refers to a happy, loving relationship in a derogatory way like "lifestyle choice", they deserve whatever heartache is coming their way.
Do you really mean this?
So as long as his kids are happy with their lives, I would love it if they don't end up with the same bigoted mindset as their dad. And if karma is real, they'll all end up doing things that make dear old dad realize how wrong he is about people and life.

Who is they-all, and who’s dad are you talking about?

Does that clear it up? And what difference does it make? I'd say the same to anyone who doesn't "approve of" a relationship that is happy and loving and in no way unusual, immoral, or illegal.

It’ll be okay. Pobody’s father is nerfect and nobody is oppressing you right now.
I promise you someone else’s actual suffering is greater than your perceived e-injustice.

quote:Little bit of the opposite for me. I don't mind mixed couples or gays IRL but living in Seattle mixed couples are way over represented where as gay couples aren't. It does feel forced.
Don't care about interracial couples at all. But once the gays show up, the channel gets changed.

I don't like being preached to and this is the religion of the leftists/progressives. Maybe y'all should form a church and give sermons on this stuff. It gets a little boring hearing your religious beliefs in every movie, TV show and commercial.

Not if I like the product. Don't give a damn about their politics or advertising if it improves my life I'm in.

I replied to Bullfrog,
When so many commercials present the abnormal as normal, there is a problem.
Maybe there is no sinister agenda being pushed from the upper echelons of media and whatever is behind them.
But after seeing the abnormal lifestyle choices showcased in so many commercials, something is sure the hell not right. And I don’t have to be silent in pointing it out.
You need to tighten up your loose morals and quit trying to blame me for your shortcomings and all inclusive socialist agenda.
That’s on you.
Have a nice day.

If it's a good product I dont give a shite about the advertising. Homos exist, get over it.
Posted on 1/8/19 at 6:05 am to WhiskeyThrottle
Yes, of course it would drive me away.

Why are you putting quotes around “diversity”
Posted on 1/8/19 at 7:02 am to WhiskeyThrottle
commercials for the most part don't drive me to OR from a product.
Posted on 1/8/19 at 7:05 am to WhiskeyThrottle
Commercials, as far as I’m concerned, do not drive me towards or away from a product. I take a product for its use.

No.
There is no doubt in my mind that it is SJW driven though. If not, then it doesn't make sense to ignore (or even alienate) large swaths of the US populace. Basically, companies are afraid of being branded as racist so they probably go out of their way to avoid negative publicity. Countless leftist on here claim that boycots don't work, but it would seem as though the fear of a boycot is enough to dictate advertising themes.
FWIW...some of the advertisements in the past that were called into question were dumb and could have easily been construed as racist. As a result, what we have now is the pendulum swinging towards the other end of the spectrum (targeting small groups that seem anything but racist on the surface).
TLDR
As for me, in spite of what certainly seems to being done, I'm not that easily offended. As a result, the answer is still....no.

Well you can't properly virtue signal to your other white friends without a token minority girlfriend/boyfriend.
Do you even Seattle bro?

Neither...I can reason for myself and realize that an advertising company came up with the commercial idea, and it has little to nothing to do with the actual product.
Posted on 1/8/19 at 7:30 am to WhiskeyThrottle
I don't think about that.
Posted on 1/8/19 at 7:35 am to Bullfrog
We call one of the guys in my motorcycle gang “homophone” because he didn’t get rid of gayt&t after the two dads commercial
Posted on 1/8/19 at 7:45 am to WhiskeyThrottle
I’m less likely to buy a product that has any subliminal message promoting diversity. Not against diversity per se, just sick of the whole SJW bullshite.
