Try a Purple Mattress - sleeps very cool.

Get a dehumidifier

I think I will. Thanks. Plus bamboo sheets. If that doesn't fix the problem I'll try a Bedjet and/or chilisleep gizmo.

Get separate covers.

This made a world of difference for me. Life changing. Wife is fine with a cheap cover, I needed something more breathable.

This screams c pap

Sleep in the heat for a few weeks then you’ll go back to normal.

I've looked at Bedjet but I'm not sure cold air blowing directly on me beneath the covers is the answer either.

I’ve got a BedJet. Their Cloud Sheet makes all the difference. Without it You get the air blowing on you. With it, you can feel the air moving but there is a layer of cloth between you and the moving air.

I heard the Cloud sheet is heavy. Is that true?

It is heavy. But you don’t notice it when the air is flowing.

Geez. Thermostat at 60, ceiling fans, box fans and a window unit? How fat are you? I sweat a little if I have drank a little too much alcohol but damn.

Quit drinking a few hours before you go to bed.

Yes, bought generic one from Amazon ~$200 - works very well. Bought a single and ran it across the torso part of the bed instead of just one side, keeps the wife and I comfortable. The chilled water is about 10 degrees cooler than the room temperature. The coils draw body temperature down fairly quickly.

For all the shite talk this board tosses on LA, I’m jealous of your lenient window A/C unit policies.

One neighbor here sees that unsightliness and I’m famous on the hood Facebook page immediately.

Bamboo sheets

Linen generally sleeps coolest of all
Silk is often considered to sleep cooler on than bamboo as well, but it’s awfully expensive (around $500/king set, and you have to be careful how you wash them. Granted, you’re probably paying $200/king in linen, but it’s going to last a hell of a long time and doesn’t need special care)
Percale 250TC Supima Cotton would also be on my list before bamboo for “cool” sheets.

I’ve owned linen, silk, cotton, and plenty of types of microfiber sheets. I’m more likely to buy/recommend linen than any other fabric, particularly if you sleep warm. Brooklinen reliably carries them. The Company Store has them from time to time. There was a brand called Stone and Beam on Amazon that I bought mine from that I haven’t seen in stock since I bought them.

If you like the feel of bamboo, Cariloha is a pretty reputable maker.

First two replies are far too much information about sheets if anyone is interested.

I also sleep on a latex mattress. Thermostat on 69, and I rarely feel like I want/need a mattress cooling system (though we do have a two-zone mattress pad heater that I am fond of)

ETA- thanks to previous owners of the house and my wife, we have a chandelier over our bed where most people would have a fan. No box fans, either, and she actually has the side of the bed with the air vent, but I’m still happy with the setup.
