It brought normal people together, and divided them against the crazies who masked, triple boosted, cloistered themselves and sang their own praises for being "heroes". Life was hell at work, with travel being essentially shutdown and dealing with bankruptcy.

But, there were some really great personal moments for me.

Can still happen...

People no longer put roots down though. They don't believe in traditional community. Their community is based on sexuality or race.

Its false community.

Sometimes a little levity and gallows humor goes a long way when you are surrounded by thousands of people dying every day

And how do we reward our heroes? Well we’re dropping the mask mandates in hospitals to put our healthcare veteran heroes at risk!

No. I hated every min of it.

Covid taught me that I had a lot of people I thought were friends that really weren’t. Many people I’ve known my whole life that happily retreated into their homes and removed themselves from our lives. And when things were over, they continued to be happy living in their own bubble.

Everything that’s wrong today is rooted in what happened there. People were too busy enjoying living at home and doing nothing to pay attention that the world had become a shitty place. And now I’m afraid we’ve lost it. Completely.

Everything that’s happened since then has been shitty. Work has turned into a joke. Nobody wants to be there, and those of us that never left weren’t ever treated right. Everything fricking costs more. Ida made south la a fricking joke that costs far too much to live in. Insurance, Home stuff. My car insurance randomly went up over $100/m.

So frick all of this. Shits going to get bad eventually to a level that makes Covid look like a picnic. We’ve shown those that would do us harm that we don’t have the balls to say no when freedom is taken from us under the guise of safety. They will try it again.

Communists have no real values. They swap them out depending on their particular need.

Democrats are not reasonable human beings.

Would y’all be ok if some people still caught polio? I didn’t think so. We developed a vaccine and eradicated the disease. Why should Covid be any different? There’s still a deadly disease running rampant and nobody will do the right thing to protect others. I wish Covid would’ve emerged when we had a good president like Obama

I work with younger people who job-hop every couple of years. Employees are not loyal and neither are companies. Communities seem to be the same. I am fortunate to live in a small subdivision of people that actually talk to one another and help each other out. I always think of the scene from "The Sandlot" and the 4th of July block party. The closest thing I can think of is a Southern Louisiana crawfish boil or tailgating.

Neighborhoods I grew up in had old people who had lived there for decades. There was stability and community.

Today people are culture vultures. Go from place to place destroying local culture and norms, while making every place standardized and similar.
