Actually I did. People think the world is going to end because of all the "crime", but if you consider the fact the population is growing, based on these numbers its much safer today than it was in the early 90s.

Crime of many types has been declining for decades, but you wouldn't know it from the folks trying to sell fear. The same holds true for humanity in general. We are at the safest and most civilized point in human history. This is speaking in general. You will always be able to point to some groups having truly sucky lives even today.
