I work in a plant. Before that, I worked in sales.

I can't decide which is more soul-sucking.

What is this "job" you speak of? Every day in the Marine Corps is a blessing and a way of life for me. The second it becomes "work" or a "job", I will get out. ??

I love the freedom, flexibility, and lifestyle that my job affords me. The actual work itself is okay. There are aspects of the work that are awesome (travel and working with a good friend), and other aspects that are meh.

As far as a job goes, it's much better than most.

I have a degree in CIS which I've been using for the last 17 years in database marketing...I've been working remote for the last 8. I pretty much know my work for a given week or two and use my time accordingly during the day for home things...weedeating, mowing, fricking, running errands...I make a damn good salary, 3 weeks vacation and off every Friday from Memorial Day through Labor Day...

I'll do something different in the next few years...I have other things/places I want to live when my daughter goes to college

Well rest easy knowing that I don't work with any others. I work by myself and only answer to one person and he and I are great friends outside of work. I consider myself lucky as I've had jobs that I didn't enjoy.

Ya this is the holy grail for me. Don't get me wrong, I work about ten minutes from where I live, by boss is awesome, I set my own hours, and everyone I work with is great...I'd just love to have that flexibility for the reasons you mentioned.

I will say my boss lets me work from home whenever I need to though.

I love getting my checks.

If I could get the checks without the work, I would do it.

I don't HATE my job, but it has it's warts.

Wanted to be a scientist. Went to school, got PhD, now the technical lead of a major program. Helps that they pay me well, but wouldn't want a different job

25 years ago, I got in at the ground floor of my company. I feel like it has given me a sense of ownership and autonomy in my job that I've never felt at another employer. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
