It's not really like that. It's more about trying not to be a lazy piece of shite.

if a man ( or someone that claims to be a man) can't stand on his word. He's a piece of shite.

Always use a trash bag one size bigger than the trash can.
Buy duct tape, a tarp, and a shovel now in case you need it later.

There's a schmuck in every situation. If you take a fair appraisal of any situation and can't figure out who the schmuck is, it's you.

Life’s too short to dance with fat chicks.

1.) Never Pay Retail
2.) Everyone lies. Your parents. Your family. Your spouse. Your kids. Your friends. Your boss. Your coworkers. Your pastor. Your girlfriend. Everyone. Understanding that this is reality will help you deal with it when it happens. So many people are unprepared for it. Never understood it.
3.) Never be afraid to pitch the deal. In a negotiation, no matter how badly your offer misses the mark or doesn't live up to what was demanded, never let ego or shame get in the way of making the offer. Never be afraid of a woman that's too beautiful, an offer that's not enough, or being too embarrassed to admit what you want.
You don't make 100% of the shots not taken.
That's not to say you shouldn't respect the person on the other side of a negotiation, offer or deal. Just that shame and ego =/= respect.
4.) Life is a numbers game. Everything in it is a numbers game. If you will get past the no and look forward to it as it's just getting you closer to a yes, then you'll go a long way in life. Sounds like a sales gimmick. It is. But it is translatable to everything.
Apply enough and you'll eventually get the job. Ask enough women and one'll go home with you. Cook a steak enough times and you'll figure out how to do it correctly. Push enough people away from you in life and you'll be left with...no one else to push.
Mastering any craft takes repetition and willingness. In other words: it's a numbers game. Do it enough and you'll get the hang of it.
5.) Nothing takes days. The only exception to this rule is a pregnancy. Things can get done-or ended-immediately. Just depends on a person's willpower and available capacity. Never let anyone lie and tell you otherwise.

Aging whiskey takes years.

I used to live by a rule to never take advice from anyone on the OTL but I’m seeing some good stuff in this thread.
I still don’t trust it though

- Do not trust anyone. Always question someone's motive.
- Don't overvalue loyalty. Don't be too loyal to the point it makes you blind.
- Be a decent person. Help people when you are able to do so, but don't let someone take advantage of you (which is why you help those in need.. Not in want),
- Do be afraid to "toot your own horn" because no one will do it for you.
