Sometimes...I will walk to the beer fridge from my office, and then go sit on the sofa after I'm done working.

Does that count?

True story, I drove my dad home from canton ms to Jackson ms all the time when I was like 12 years old on saturdays. He would pull off after a day of working in the heat, buy a few cold ones and let me drive home. Another true story…his dad had a car dealership in canton and he was driving his own car around town at age 13.

If people drink beers on their way home from a 14 hour shift, the next thing you know, they'll be fricking kids and mainlining heroin?

Give me a break.

Practically speaking this is safer than having a beer then driving home. But no that seems way too risky

Yup. I live 3 miles away on a rural highway from where I buy beer. My sister in law treats me like I'm satan himself because one day I bought a six pack and had 4 sips of beer in the 3 minutes it took me to get home. She regularly has a glass of wine at our house then drives home.

So a dude I work with got a ticket a couple weeks ago for an open container after being pulled over for a tail light he didn't know was out.

I thought they took you straight to jail for open container. No "ticket".

But I don't know.

I think an open container was still legal in some states as of 15 years ago.

Pretty sure it's still legal in Mississippi.

I'll have a beer while running to the store with my FIL sometimes, he lives in a small town. Don't really do it at home though.

In the 'Sip, we judge distance by beers, Hattiesburg is 2 1/2 beers from Jxn, Winona is 2 beers from Hernando and so on.

Why is your coworker too dumb to stick the open beer in the center console before the cop walks up to the door?

My wifes aunt used to have little ice chest she would pack with beer and keep it in the car.

Feel this was a normal thing back in the 70s new orleans.

Kind of like smoking. They did it, now its bad, so you dont see it as much.
