I usually laugh at the "pussification of America" people, but are we really discussing the injury concerns associated with burpees?
What's next, we gonna get concerned about the impact associated with fvcking jumping jacks?!?!
Agreed. It really is funny how so many people that have never done crossfit before are such experts. I don't know why it makes them so insecure. Did a crossfitter touch them in their no-no special place or something?

I used to talk a lot of shite about it, but I recently started doing it because I got a free membership. Why not?
I always agreed with their principles of full ROM, high intensity, mobility, all around fitness, etc. I just didn't agree with how it was implemented sometimes.
Since I've been doing it I still have some of the same feelings. I enjoy it, I like the results, some shite I still don't agree with, but I'll continue to do it because I like the competitiveness and all around fitness.

You hit it on the head. It's more of a competition or vehicle to display athletic talent that is already there rather than a program to build athletic talent. People who excel.at crossfit would excel at any program.

While I agree with you in that athletic people obviously will already excel at crossfit (case in point, I'm usually top 5 and only been doing it 5 months), it definitely helps build athleticism. Some people in that place look like they have no business doing what they're doing, but they do it.
Are there better programs to build athleticism? Sure. But what has made Crossfit what it is today is people just keep doing it. They don't quit. Which really is the most important part of any program. The best program in the world sucks if you don't do it consistently.

My sister in law does that crossfit shite and now she is fat and bulky. She literally gained weight because all she does is extreme weight lifting. I hate that she does not understand how ridiculous crossfit is.......
No she didnt. She gained weight because she stuffed her face. Women dont gain nearly the muscle mass that men do unless they are at an extreme calorie surplus and/or taking steroids. I hate when ignorant people say this about women olympic lifting. Women that squat heavy and eat right are lean, toned and have a great arse and legs.

I know two people (a man and a woman) who do Crossfit and they are fat. I don't know what's the point of being all about working out if you eat like pig. They are both just as fat as they were when they first started, and that was like 3 years ago.

My wife worked with some lesbo who was into Crossfit and all she could talk about for a week straight was kipping. I didn't know what that was at the time.

I love watching the chubby women show up with war paint on their faces to climb halfway up the rope.

haha, no its not. The competition aspect is to keep the intensity level of the workout at pace that will present the best results.

Things I see it multiple times a day tell me that you are wrong. Normal people hitting PRs, grandfathers, moms to 3, former fatasses. Not just in lifting weights, but something as easy(to most people) as jumping on a box, or doing a pullup/pushup. Keep doing your 3 lifts, though.
And on the top level scale, they are even improving their athletic talent.
