FYI there is no such thing as catching up on sleep. But studies are beginning to show its more about obtaining REM sleep instead of 8 hours, or whatever. Lots of people function well on 6 hours because they sleep deep and get a solid 6 hours in.

I also like Monday so maybe I'm weird

I definitely don't understand people who have 8-5 jobs, but get up at 5AM to have a cup of coffee, read the paper, do laundry* and just sit around the house.

I get up at 4:30AM, but I have a 30 minute drive as well as a 6AM start time.

That's a great natural way of being. I don't hate Monday's either unless I've had a really eventful Sunday, like boozing for a later saints game it going kayaking all day or something. Makes Monday morning suck. But for the most part Monday is just another day.

Yes I do, I even wake up early on weekends. If I sleep past 6 AM that's late for me. Even my kids are up before 8 most days.

Good point. I guess what I mean is that I give myself a break on the weekends. I primarily exercise and read in the mornings, so I feel like the extra sleep gives me a physical and mental break.

I've heard that you should stick with the same sleep pattern every day, but I haven't seemed to have any issues, and I've been doing my routine for about 4 years now.

No worries, hell I envy those that can drink and don't have a issue. These early mornings just remind me why I have to be sober. Its the little things that keep you sober.

I wish I could make myself go to bed earlier and get up at the crack of dawn to enjoy some alone time before work, but the snooze button has become way too addicting.

I do.

One reason my drinking is down to a minimal.
Waking up early on a sat or Sunday am feeling great is underrated.

Sitting outside on the deck with a fresh cup of coffee just as the sun is coming up is absolutely the best time of the day for me.

Up at 05:00, dressed by 05:08, feed dogs, eat, make coffee, out the door by 05:20, and on the bike by 05:40. My mornings are a blur but I love them.

Ill echo what most have said. I love getting up at 5:20, going for a run, and then drinking coffee, reading bible, reading news etc after my run and before my kids get up. It is the only true free time I get and I love the little bit of quiet before the day truly starts.

yes, I like early mornings. I get up at 4am. Coffee and out the door by 4:30am. I get lots of chores done before I leave for work around 6am. Plus its not as hot.
