It's the favorite part of my day. Get things done before the family gets up. Actually read and do research.
Second favorite part is couple of beers at sunset.

Glad you were able to kick it. Had an old friend overdose on pain meds just last week. Had an old injury from high school football that got him on them. In and out of rehab to try to cycle down bc he could never get off, the pain was still prominent. Left behind a son that is his spitting image. Shame.
Cheers (inappropriate but, you know)

God no, waking up to an alarm clock sucks arse, always has and always will.
If I could train my body to go to bed early enough that I get enough sleep to wake up early on my own, I'd be a happy camper. But too much stuff happens in the evening time for that to ever be a possibility before retirement.

Hate getting up before noon

I don't understand people who enjoy waking up early.
I definitely don't understand people who have 8-5 jobs, but get up at 5AM to have a cup of coffee, read the paper, do laudry and just sit around the house.
I wake up with just enough time to shower, get dressed and stroll into work 5-10 minutes early.
I value my sleep.

quote:Yes. I get up early to work out. On weekends, when the little one asleep, the lady is out cold, I finish my workout and head to my favorite spot--the game room--and play Battlefield while drinking a hot cup of coffee. I know it sounds dumb, but it's what I like.
Does anyone enjoy getting up early?

I hate that chaos. I enjoy more control and stability and I don't like having to do things at a frantic pace.

Alone with your thoughts at 7 AM = glorious
Alone with your thoughts at 3 AM = depressing af
Very true. I agree completely.

It's my favorite part of the day because it's my only alone time. I sit outside no matter what the weather is with a great big ole cup of black coffee and TD.

It's extremely controlled. I wake up at the same time every day, walk out the door at the same time every day and get to work 5-10 minutes early every day.
The minute I wake up, my day is started. I will never intentionally wake up early so I can "relax" for an extra hour. I'd rather sleep.

At this stage I'm usually up to 11:30-midnight and sleep until 7-7:30. Some mornings I'm up by 6:45.
My fiancé is up by 6:00 usually. She likes her mornings. My dad has always been a very early riser- like 5 am. I want to be like that, but my sleep schedule is not conducive as I'm not tired at 9:00 like my fiancé. Plus she watches the Today show all morning which seems like the polar opposite reason to wake up early. I think I'd prefer the slowness and the quiet, like at 11:00 pm.
Any tips for getting my sleeping on track would be appreciated.

My favorite part of the day is whenever I get up, between 630-700, until 12 pm. I think once I hit that hour long lunch break it kills my work ethic.

yep, my favorite time of day.

I have been getting up early everyday for over 25 years. Its a love/hate relationship. Because of my job, I have to wake up around 4:30am everyday for the most part. I also dont go to bed until late so I basically sleep about 5 hours a night and have been a long time
I love it because I feel like my day is more full and I dont sleep my life away. I hate it because I can not sleep when I want to. Even on vacation, I usually only sleep 5 hours, 6 at the absolute most. It sucks at times

For me, it's about taking control of my life. I absolutely hate feeling like my day starts at work. It's depressing as shite for me.
I wake up around 5:00am. Go to bed around 11:00. My body has learned to function on 6 hours of sleep. I'll sleep in on weekends until about 8:30-9:00 to catch up on sleep if I need to.
5:00am -7:30am = 2.5 hours of personal time
5:30pm - 11:00pm = 5.5 hours of personal time
8 hours total.
In other words, every weekday has a near-perfect balance of work and life.
