We're comparing apples to apples. Flu cases exceed what is reported too. Only the very sick with either virus go to the doctor for it. So calculating a mortality rate of reported cases to compare the two is useful.

What i do notice is a lot of very rich organizations/people, who don't like losing money, are cancelling things that make them most amount of money.
That alone tells me it is something I should be worried about regardless of whatever number crunching you have to do to make yourself feel better about the situation.

Regardless of their fate, fact is the virus will accelerate their demise. My FiL is diabetic, asthmatics, & has hypertension. Under normal circumstances he can manage his health. If he were to contract covid-19, his life expectancy is compromised & greatly reduced.
