I don't drink soda, but I can't imagine this makes enough difference to justify the effort it would take.

Don't know what this sorcery is, but you have me intrigued enough to try it.

I've been busting my arse at work, and try to avoid drinking too much soda. So if I do buy some soda for the house. I'm buying Mexican coke, and drinking it from the bottle.

I do this when I pour soda. I didn’t realize it was a real thing I just always thought it seemed to maintain the carbonation more than pouring soda over ice right out of the freezer.

I have never heard this. Maybe I'll test it out with this whiskey coke I got coming my way

I just suck on the ice a little while and spit it back into the glass then pour the Coke over it. My guests seem to like it.

How about don't use any ice at all because that waters down your drink and keep the Coke in the refrigerator instead.

I always did that before I had a free-standing ice maker. Makes it much better, drink doesn't "stick to" the ice that way. The wife made fun of me for a long time - until she actually tried it. I still do it if I go somewhere that I have to get ice out of a fridge ice maker, and is only applicable in the case of a cold soda coming out of the fridge and being poured over ice, and no need if you have an ice maker that makes clear ice.

I do it. It keeps the drink from over foaming.

it makes coke taste better. Seems fizzier .

Don’t forget milk taste better in glass than plastic, and wine taste better in real crystal.
