In terms of being talked or thought about long after death.

It seems the higher one progresses in life, the more that person wants to leave a lasting legacy.

It isnt important to me. If I'm dead I'm not going to care what others think or remember about me.

I think it's better to live life to the fullest.

Lol no. All I care about is that I set my intermediate family up to succeed after I am gone and that they cared about me after I left. That is about it

Your legacy will be how and to what degree you helped and showed kindness to those in need.

That will also determine the fate of your soul.

Amassing wealth can aid in that endeavor and can be a noble pursuit if so.

What we do in life echoes in eternity...

Sorry, I just watched Gladiator II and always wanted to say that. I'll see myself out.

Depends on what kind of legacy you’re speaking on.

What people think about me publicly or outside of my immediate family? Absolutely couldn’t care less.

What my kids think about me? Absofrickinglutely. I’d hope to have been impressionable enough my children that they take the positives of their upbringing and apply it to the raising of their children, while also improving on my shortcomings.

My dad isn’t here anymore and I think of him daily with how he’d handle situations with my wife and 3 kids 7 and younger. I know that’ll just increase as my kids reach teenager years.

I think that’s a legacy any good dad would want to have .

Who are you comparing yourself to? That's a vital mistake.

This is how I feel.

If you ask the average person who Calvin Coolidge was, you'll likely get blank stares. Though 100 years ago, a blink of an eye in terms of human history, he was one of the most well-known names in the country. Then, think about how most people who care about legacy, won't sniff that level of notoriety.

No legacy for others. I just want my sons to respect what we gave them and hopefully they impart that/their mantra on their progeny.

I want them to be thankful that we were their parents. That’s all.

Hopefully they learned a few practical and mental life skills from us.

Define a legacy.

There is a fact of existence that modern humans need to get through their skulls.

You are going to live about 70-80 years on average.

You will have a chance to live a good life, have kids, and instill values while furthering society in the best way you were able.

Then you will pass away.

You will be remembered by a few generations, then you will be forgotten and humanity will go on.

Some may find that depressing, but stop trying to make an impact on the world or trying to be the center of existence.

Make an impact on your family and friends, your world.

My children and grandchildren are my legacy, that I do right by them and am well remembered by them is all that I need, really.

Everything else is between my Lord and me.
