You can eat a dick. Especially the day after the event of yesterday. You're only miserable if you choose to be.

Baton Rouge is awesome until you need to drive somewhere

Other than LSU and your family if they live here, what is there to love about BTR?
Let's see:
1) Food
2) Amazing, friendly people
3) Proximity to Beach/NOLA/Houston/Hunting/Fishing
4) LSU (sorry, have to put it in here)
5) Women
6) Job opportunity (ObamaNotBad)
7) Conveniences of big city with small city feel
8) Crime is generally contained to one part of the city
9) Private & magnet schools are among best in country (obviously leaving out public school system, which is a disaster)
10) If you want to live in deep south, in a medium size city, it is the place to be.
11) Downtown revitalization, 3rd Street, Shaw Center
12) L'Auberge
13) Great neighborhoods (CCL, U Club, Oak Hills, Sherwood, etc etc)
14) Greater BR, including Zachary, Central & Ascension/Livingston for Public schools and country living/lots of property (if that is your thing)
15) Mississippi River, Live at 5, Fireworks on the Levee, USS Kidd
16) Mardi Gras w/out the NOLA hassle
17) St. Patty's Day parade!
18) French/Catholic influence is unique
19) Old State Capitol and Battle of BR
20) Mild winters, awesome springs and falls. (Summers are for traveling!)
21) Unlike most cities, does not feel "generic." Big on local options for shopping and eating out.
22) Louie's for breakfast, Flue-De-Lis for lunch, Superior for dinner.
23) Hot Air Balloon Fest
24) Youth sports programs among the very best
25) Uniqueness in different areas of town create a diverse feel - Southdowns, Mid City, Garden District, LSU, South BR, Downtown, Spanish Town
26) Tin Roof Beer and Southern Craft Beer - our local breweries
27) Rural Life Museum
28) Vibrant recreation org - BREC
29) Running/Biking/SUP/Canoe the University Lakes/LSU lakes
30) Running/Biking the Levee
31) Amazing non-profits who genuinely care for the community

I do not live in EBR parish, but I live in the BR area. I go to BR for just about everything and because of that, I consider it home and because of that, I care about it. During the good times, I feel a sense of pride, during the bad times I hurt. Call that what you want.

frick you. Our family is here, the activities we love are here and our businesses are here. It's home.
It's got its warts, but I love this town.

It's a right of passage in br.
It's how Raoul describes his shrimp burger.
"Juicy juicy, just like poosey."
Akasha burger was always my favorite though.

I didn't love BR. I loved college, but I got out of Louisiana as soon as I could.

I like the idea of baton rouge. As a kid, I loved it. As I grow up I've begin to be disillusioned by the city. I still love some of the core things within the city - My job, my friends and family and LSU. Everything beyond that I feel I could enjoy more elsewhere.

Some of yall are just terrible people man.
People were just shot here from someone who isnt from here and doesnt live here. Majority of protestors that were arrested have no ties to the city.
God forbid those who live here and are from here stick up for their home.

I would probably dislike BR more if I had no hobbies and were forced to spend all my time here. Fortunately, I'm gone most weekends so I appreciate it a little more when I'm home during the work week.
