Yesterday afternoon on my way home from work, I got a call from a good friend of mine who I grew up with, he wanted my wife and I to meet his new gf. My friend has been going through some hard times since his wife of 25+ years divorced him a couple of months ago, so when he told me about his new gf, I thought to myself, maybe he's found someone to help him move along with his life. I was expecting a chick around his age (he's 56), but I was surprised to find him with a 19 year old. That's a big age difference. Is it just me or does anyone else find this odd?

If she's looking to him for financial security in the future if the relationship gets serious, she best look elsewhere because his ex made off with a good solid portion of his money and property.

He’s a senior citizen and she can’t get in a bar. I’m sure that’ll work out great.

You sound jealous he's bagging a 19 year old while you don't even get to touch an old hag.

If your friend is too dumb to see it then I don't know what to tell you. Yes, it's odd. Do you actually think a 19-year-old wants old wrinkly balls on her then enjoy it? A pretty damn high chance she has some kind of agenda and is using him. She's probably taking advantage of his weakness. Does the guy have some wealth or known wealth before his divorce?

No woman at that age is going to seriously look at a guy that old unless he looks way better than his age or he has something she wants. So, even if she's looking for a mature relationship do you honestly believe someone around age 30 who's stable is not good enough for her? The competition is high when you're with a girl at that age. Common sense tells you she wants something.

I’m guessing the dad is the reason she is dating a 56 year old

a 100.00 bill is 5'7/8" long take 6 of those and add to 19 years old - and she is in her early 50's - that is how it works.

After my divorce I dated a girl 13 years younger than me... it was wild, weird, and sometimes frustrating (so like normal dating).

I am now married to a girl 8 years younger than me. It's a little better, and she's definitely more stable than the younger one was. But there are still times when our age difference makes for some conversations that just don't work. Especially when we are talking music, TV, or movies. It doesn't help that she grew up in a kinda hippy liberal family that didn't watch TV or movies. She's just got a blank slate when it comes to that area of trivia and knowledge.
