Eastwood's Bar on McKinney will be hosting LSU watch parties this year.
I'll have to check it out. Glad there's an alternative.

Also it's far and away the best place to watch the game in Dallas so I'm still going

ON McKinney IN Uptown

They have watch parties for K-State and Clemson already. They added us to the mix. We have a big group that always hangs out there and the owners are awesome. They have so many TVs inside and outside. Great deals on the drinks too. Way cheaper than Dodies.

Awesome, but what about the talent?

Not a lot of talent working, but it is right near West Village and Uptown on McKinney so there will be lots of talent around.

Man this was happening a few years ago and it looks like it's happening again.....
Everyone decides "there bar" is the best place to watch a game so we end up with like 8 watch parties that are all small. The great thing about the last few years is Dodies, like the bar or not, was THE watch party so there was always a good fun crowd of LSU fans.
Can we not splinter apart to 10 different places?

If we don't have multiple watch parties, then no one will be able to easily get to the bar for a drink or have a comfortable sear like at Dodies. They aren't set up for crowds like they get during big LSU games. I'd rather have a place to sit with a clear shot of multiple TV's and a quick way to get a beer. That's why we got Eastwood's on board for our big Uptown LSU crew.

The real reason Dodies Reef sued was because the Mcguinness's opened a sports bar called 504 Cafe next to the original Dodie's after signing a non-compete clause with the sale of Dodies Reef. They were using the Dodies name to promote the new place and were served with cease and desist letters. But they still would sometimes use the Dodies name in promotions for 504. The Dodies Reef people had no problem with the original Dodies using the name but when the McGuinness's opened a competing sports bar that was too much.

Neither of them are that good to eat at anyway. The one that lost its name is a cool building with a rooftop bar and indoor/outdoor bar on the first floor.

That place was a welcome Oasis when I lived in Lawton Oklahoma in the early 90's.
I waited tables with Casey in BR and he'd always hook me up when I came in.

No, that's the one that kept the name.

That place sucks arse. The men's room is fouler than the average festival port-o-pot and the food is a bunch of greasy garbage.
The newer Dodies is much better than the old one anyways. The original is surviving on its name and the olds who cant be bothered to go somewhere new.
I'm surprised it took this long for something like this to happen b/c they've had a shite relationship for some time now.

This is great news! The one time i tried to go to a LSU watch party at a bar here in dallas it was at the most sketchy rundown hoodrat bar off of 75 and northwest highway. Someone got murdered in the parking lot a few weeks later.

I'm not sure which Dodie's the one in Coppell falls under, but it can fall to the ground in my opinion. Place has terrible food.
