would definitely get a second, third or fourth opinion or as many as it takes.
They can look at your bloodwork and know.. You cant hide it, as much as you would like to believe you don't drink too much.... Low Magnesium is a huge issue with alcohol abuse, and potassium and calcium follow it down.. Then bam.. Heart issues like arrythmias. You can say "I don't drink that much" .. And believe yourself... but your labs will tell the tale.

Can you blame them? Everyone is walking around 40lbs overweight and apparently drinking so much that giving it up is life altering.

Drinking is a lot cheaper than going through rehab

I mean I guess if you are drinking enough to need a doctor to tell you to quit, I guess it is life altering. fricking sad it even gets to that point though.
"He makes a valid point, but I'll still hurl pointless insults into the universe to save face."
What a putz.
At least DC grew up and learned a new concept today. The more you do something, the more of a change it is when you stop doing it.

I’d get a second opinion and then a third and as many as I need to find a doctor that told me what I wanted to hear.

I can't drink anymore, my liver doesn't metabolize alcohol any more... you will get use to it.

And how sad is it that giving up alcohol has people saying they would rather get a 2nd opinion likes its some big deal not to drink or only drink 5 or 6 times a year

My god your white knighting for an apparent alcoholic is pathetic. Is it a change? Sure. Is it going to be hard? Sure. Life altering? Gtfo with that pathetic shite

Not sure if anyone has asked, but how much do you drink and how often?

How many beers are y’all drinking this weekend? I think I got 30-35 in me

White knighting? Eh, maybe. The entire thread is set in the context of someone who clearly drinks in excess. When someone comes hat in hand and exposes weakness, I find the people that pounce super hard to be complete scumbags. Usually it's people who have deep insecurities and need some catharsis by belittling others. It comes off as pathetic to me.
But you've made it clear you are super awesome and don't care what people think, so I can't imagine this post bothers you 8nnthe slightest.

A doctor’s job is to keep you alive, not sponsor your stupidity. If you don’t want to hear what they have to say, just don’t go to doctors. OP apparently wants to live. Go figure.

That guys a whack job

Have you got a second opinion?
You’re not using one of those quacks that got their degree at a med school in the Caribbean are you?

You want to coddle every problem like it’s the end of the world. Guess what, everyone has demons. Giving up fricking alcohol ranks pretty damn low in the grand scheme of problems in the world.,

Alright, I'll leave you be. This makes me pretty sure you have some shite going on and you're just lashing out. Best of luck.
Like you said, everyone has demons. OPs seems to be alcohol. Ridding yourself of demons is generally life changing, regardless what it is and how some random on the internet prioritizes them. The end. Have a blessed day.
