There is this guy at my work who is constantly coming up with the craziest fricking BS. He obviously reads alot and has a good memory, so he mixes his stories with fact and fiction to make them somewhat beliveable.. even though you know they arent.
Today he informed us he worked at three mile island during the nuclear incident... and also that nicotine is illegal in germany and their cigarettes are made of cabbage.
From past stories he has told us he was a cobra helicopter pilot, has been to pretty much every base that chemical weapons were stored at or made, he once flew to Canada to capture reindeer to replace some for his friend that uses them in Christmas parades, he has hiked the Appalachian trail, the list goes on and on and on.

I did years ago. He couldn’t tell the truth if his life depended on it. Even when he knew what was right, he would make something up. I never understood it. Surprise...Surprise...he got fired !

He also has met Donald Trump, sat in the apollo 11 capsule at the space rocket center with buzz aldrin... trying to think of some more.

I have a cousin that is one, it's annoying. No one else in the family is like that, always wants to impress someone with someone his friend knows or etc.

I’m in sales. I work with liars, psychopaths, and functioning alcoholics.

People like that can be entertaining because you know they are lying, but if you entertain what they are saying, as if you are all in and believe them.. They will just keep going and going and the story just keeps getting more ridiculous.
Use to work with a guy who, no matter what hunting story someone told, he would one up it with something that happened on his uncle, in Texas, hunting land. People use to frick with him and make up shite like "we went to the camp this weekend and someone in my camp killed a deer that had the biggest rack I ever seen. It was a 12 point, but it was just wide"..
And it would never fail... dude would say something like "that aint nothing, my uncle in Texas..."

You should probably sit him down and have a conversation if he’s that desperate for attention. It could be just a phase or it could also be something much worse down the road.

I used to work for one.
Salesman.
Tell you exactly what you wanted to hear.
When I asked him to put his promises in writing, he acted offended.
POS.

Worked with the ultimate dude like this. No matter what you said, his story was one notch better. It was insane. All HaHa funny except we worked for the G and this guy has a Top Secret Clearance. He was legit unhinged and that bothers me to this day.

I've given up, it's hard for me to give a shite. Plus I've done so much more compared to him, that it coming from me would kinda come off a-hole-ish.

It seems like there will always be that one person who is a habitual liar anytime you put together a bunch of random people (work, etc).
I grew up with someone like this.. He was homeschooled and his parents were ultra-religious. It was as if he had to try to fit in.. One time when the new pair of Jordans came out (this was early 90s) he went buy a pair and told everyone he had both pair (there was a red and a blue trimmed pair).
He told everyone he would wear the other pair in a few days. He went back and returned them for the other pair (someone saw him going into the store with the shoe box. Knowing that he lied a lot, it was easy to assume that is what he done).
He would tell us he had all kind of stuff.. He use to always talk about getting a go kart and finally one Christmas he told everyone he got it, but his parents made him keep it at his cousin's house. He seriously ended up becoming a drug addict.
