Yes. 20%

We need a sticky with polling of all tipping situations.

Usually $2-5, depending on if I know the stylist or not. I go to Fantastic Sam's near my house and usually there is a mix of regular and newbie stylists/cutters when I go. I try to get one I know or had before. Two things I hate: (1) waiting for a cut and (2) not knowing a newbie cutter.

Absolutely, you can hide your health but you cant hide your head... a barber is much more important than a doctor.

You live in Scottsdale? Just moved from there but will more than likely move back in the next 4 years. V's is awesome.

$5 because I go to old arse men who only charge $12 for a haircut and when I tip $10, the barber makes a huge deal about it and tries to give me money back.

When I go to my barber, no. He owns his own place and it would be like paying twice. If I go to a salon or what not then yes

I haven't gone to a haircut place in 5 years that didn't require cash. And if they make me get out cash, you damn sure better be prepared that I won't take out any more to specifically rip you .haircut cost 18, I'll tip 2 dollars. Want more? Get a damn debit machine.

My husband goes to V's Barbershop, you ever go there? Says it's run by mostly Russians...at least the location he goes to. Just in case they have ties to Russian mafia...he always tips his barber well

Never heard of it. I go to this Italian place on Greenway because that is where the chick who cuts my hair moved. I have nappy hair and wear a hat most times anyways because I feel so gay trying to "style" my hair so it doesn't matter that much, if I had good hair like B I might look around.

My cut is $14 and I hand her a $20, so a $6 tip results.

Pay $15 for the haircut and tip $5. Always just give them a $20 and say thanks.

I've read that it's not necessary if the owner of the shop cuts your hair.

No. I pay the service fee. $5 if I feel good about it.

My base fee is $40 which I think is plenty and much more than almost everyone in this thread pays.

Great business model.

Terrible hiring practices.

When I found out Tammy 2 Tooth was my stylist the fight or flight instinct kicked in.
