The more of our gov’s jackassery I see, the more I doubt we landed on the moon.

We landed but some / a lot of the pictures and videos were from “practice”. So the conspiracy folks see those and claim it all a sham. Now…why NASA didn’t just say that I don’t know.

This.

On top of Americans keeping their mouth shut, there’s no way the ruskiest would have been kept shut after finding out we didn’t.

Yes, I am sure we landed on the moon. Ive never doubted it.

If we didn't, then why did the Russians stop trying after July 69? Imagine how much of a blow it would have been to the stature of the US if the Russians actually got there and showed the US landing was fake. Yet, they pretty much abandoned their manned lunar program. Yes the Soviet program was having major failures but if they had continued, even if it took another decade, I believe they would have done it just to show up the US.

At the time the government has a lot of reason to fake it and little fear it would come under scrutiny.
Its funny how people know the govt lied about covid and how the jabs were useless. But somehow the govt lying to the masses way back then is unimaginable. Not to mention the JFK murder being bullshite, at least how the govt claims it.

It also wasn't like we weren't in a race with the Soviets to get blasted to the moon, and losing to them would be not so good. The US govt has been full of shite at least since the 50s with corruption. Here we are almost 100 years later and I would say their propaganda machine has been evolving right on schedule.

I’ve gone down this rabbit hole in the past. A number of cosmonauts and others involved in the Soviet space program mysteriously disappeared over the years, but most were the victims of political persecution, and not the victims of accidents.

However, many in the West thought the rocket engineer Ivan Nedelin was the victim of Soviet political fallout when his rocket design failed in the early 60’s, but it wasn’t until 30 years later that it was discovered he died during a test launch.

We will never know how many people the Soviets lost during the space race, but most of the higher profile losses were due to the gulag, rather than accidents.

I'll admit it seems harder to believe as time goes on, but there are certain aspects of it they just couldn't have faked. The effects of the lower gravity, the way the moon dust behaves when the rover is driving around and kicking it up, they just wouldn't behave that way on Earth. Watch videos of the rover and see how the regolith fires out from under the tires and the path it takes. Couldn't happen like that with earth's gravity and atmosphere.

Sure why not.

As much as technology has progressed, it's also gone backwards too. Some guy spent a shitload of money trying to 'rediscover' the construction of wood gasifiers, something there used to be many of, then put it all in a book so people could DIY it.

Of course, if you build one of these for off the grid power, the FBI will probably come after you

When you look at the incompetency across our government today, it's hard to believe a lot of things.

This guy at NASA that sounds like he was dropped on his head says we can't got back to the moon because they destroyed all the technology so we should focus on going to Mars now instead lol

In the future ISS videos, they should edit out astro-nots dropping objects on the floor and harnesses snapping like Tim Peake falling to the floor on the BBC.
