If you have a passport you don’t need the Real ID.

Another reason to have TSA PreCheck

TSA PreCheck line at my airport was longer than the regular line this morning, but still worth it to not take off shoes or take things out of my bag.

REALID was passed under the Bush Administration and a Republican Congress.

So it is not a Republican or Democrat issue, but more of a Deep State issue.

As far as REALID, I didn’t see why it was necessary. You had to provide the same identifying documents. The only difference is that they scanned them into a federal database instead of the DMV lady saying in the computer system that they provided sufficient documentation.

That is true, I forgot that some states had a low bar to getting an ID or a driver’s license.

Not a rumor. Saw it first hand in El Paso. Group boarded my flight with no photo ID and just printed release papers from Border Patrol. I looked at the TSA guy checking my ID and he just shook his head.

Bet we (US taxpayers) paid for their tickets, too.

I just don't like taking my passport on the occasional domestic flight.

That was my go-to ID for years on weekly flights partially because the passport didn't show the world where I was from.

After 5 or 6 years keeping it in my rear pocket, it looked pretty old. More than a few times, TSA goons often looked it over and questioned why it was so worn. I asked if it being worn was illegal.
