re: Do you think smoking will still be allowed in bars in 10 years?

Let the bar decide who it wants to cater to. Do I like cigs? not really. Do I melt if someone around me smokes? Hell no.
The reaction to smokers is as offensive if not moreso as those who smoke. I'm fine with smoke free areas but let them have their vice. Just avoid the smokers and it all works out.

People who want to ban smoking are such unAmerican pussies.

I think it should be up to the bar owner, because I am going to purposefully patronize bars that don't allow smoking.
I don't like bans on smoking because it just forces the trashy smokers onto the street where I can't avoid them as easily.

God forbid someone interrupts the degradation of the liver with the degradation of the lungs. Also you failed to mention the legalization of smoking pot is growing faster than ever, or is it only ok to smoke if it gets you high?

I'd love to fire up a Cohiba in your car with the windows rolled up.

I think pot smoke is safer than the shite in cigarettes

shite, I'm in L.A. Right now and it's pretty much illegal to smoke anywhere because you can't smoke within 25 feet of a door or window that can open. You pretty much have to stand in the middle of the road and smoke.

I don't smoke but we don't need the government to tell private businesses what they can't do (that's not normally against the law obviously)
Smoking is a dying habit anyway, most places would be non smoking right now even if it were legal, simply because there is a higher demand for it. But let their be a niche market for smoking bars.
And no you don't have "a right to clean air" in a private establishment. You don't have to go to that business, if smoke bothers you, then don't go to those businesses. Plain and simple.

Cigarette smoke in a restaurant is very Asian.

The problem is that smoking used to mean actual tobacco rolled up once in a awhile for a buzz.
Anything in moderation isn't a bad thing.
But then it became commercialized and industrialized and now people smoke packs a day all day of processed chemical cured tobacco.
It's not much different than fast food really.

Oh I'm with you. It is outrageous that in 2017 people still smoke inside.
You dont have to go to those places.

Some states will allow 420 and nicotine.
Some wont allow either.

Several places in Addison out side of Dallas allows it. Lots of places outside of the beltway allow it. Near our office off 90 there are plenty.

The last apartment I had in Burbank not only could you not smoke in the apartment, but you couldn't smoke on the premises. You had to actually go outside the complex to smoke. I'm no smoker and never have been, but outside the premises seems excessive.
As for bars and restaurants, I don't think it should be banned. I always hated going home smelling smoke at the end of the night, but a quick shower took care of that.
Should definitely be an establishment decisions.
