I do for property taxes. TN charges extra if you use a card. I’m not paying a 5% fee on a $2K bill.

I still take checks but haven't written one in a few years. I would rather take a check than a credit card. I can deposit the check and make sure it clears right away. And don't have to pay 3.2% like when i take credit.

Rarely and only if required.

Just to your mom. I don’t need that digital footprint.

Do you still write checks at places like the grocery store or pharmacy
Last time was like in 1997.
People still do that?

No. I don't even have a checkbook. frick all that noise.

Just one and that’s only because the garbage people covering my area refuse to join this century.
It’s amazing how hard it is to make yourself write that check every quarter. They usually get a five dollar late fee out of me just out of laziness/disbelief that they still require a mailed check.

Very rarely. And I haven’t had a checkbook for decades. I have a print-it-yourself check kit for laser printers, with pre-perforated blank check sheets. So if I need one or two, i can just fire up the program and print just what I need. This is great for situations like donating to small local charities.

I write a few, but not many. I can't remember the last time I wrote one in a check-out line.

My utility bill to a rural MS water association at deer camp is the only physical check I write and mail now. I try to pay them a years worth of bills each time to minimize the agravation.
Everything else is autopay or credit/debit card.

A write one occasionally for a service at my home. It is rare though.

I write checks from my office. I’ve got those big arse foot long baller checks.
Something about the process of writing it out, recording it in the ledger, and then hearing and feeling it being torn out is a combination of nostalgia and having financial freedom. I don’t need to do that, but it’s fun.
I Venmo too, but sending someone $1000 Venmo has no charm compared to the art of writing out the check.
Venmo is much easier though.
