I find it hard to sleep with a TV on. Eventually I’ll fall asleep but probably later than I should. My wife just conks out regardless. I think it’s very common for couples to differ here.

Can you wear a sleep mask if it’s the light keeping you awake, and maybe he can watch TV with Bluetooth earbuds/headphones so it’s quiet?

Me too. I'm rarely awake for 5 minutes after my head hits the pillow.

Yes, but I usually turn it on something that's not highly interesting.

I fell asleep to the USA soccer game last night.

No TV, box fan running on high to create noise. I work shift work so blinds and blackout curtains when working nights.

No tv for me. Wife can sleep with a train coming thru the bedroom, so if it is on when she falls asleep, it stays on until I fumble around for the remote and turn it off. But I am a light sleeper, so that generally means I am now awake, so I turn it back on until I am about to drift back off

If I don’t fall asleep with the TV or a podcast or YouTube video on my mind starts to race and stress about work, etc. listening to something is my way to kind of drift away from the world and relax some. I’m dependent on it now but I dont really care and if need be I am still able to sleep with nothing on

I used to not, but I always had trouble falling asleep. For whatever reason, I have to have it on now, but pretty low. If it is silent and pitch black, my mind starts racing and I start thinking about work or stuff going on with the kids and I'll damn near have a panic attack.

I've tried sound machines and the white noise, but they didn't help much. I would just lay there and try to pick out the pattern of the waves crashing or crickets chirping or whatever.

If I use the tv to fall asleep, it must be on a program that I would actually watch, even if the sound is near zero. Not some late night face cream commercial.

As a kid, I would listen to Hawaii Islanders baseball games on the radio as I fell asleep.

I can sleep with the TV on or no TV. Wife keeps the bedroom at too hot a temperature (and not because of friction with Jody) so about 1 a.m. I go downstairs to sleep.

I also like to sleep on a hardwood floor or on the floor.

I’m almost nocturnal and absolutely love it to be pitch black and silent. Especially during the heat of summer I like to sleep days and be up nights.

If my feet get cold in the winter I may not get out of bed except to use the bathroom and eat though.

Retirement is great!

Nope. No TV in the bedroom. Bedroom is for two things and TV isn’t one of them.

Blackout curtains and white noise provided my a bigass HEPA filter we have running 24/7.

But that's for sleeping at night.

For naps, I often have the TV on low. I'm a bike rider and in the summer there's nothing better than getting up early, knocking out a 50 mile ride, coming home and having a shower and lunch, then putting the Tour de France on the TV and crashing out in the A/C.

Sleep timer: 60 mins.

There's been many a time in my life though that it turns off before I'm asleep, which is usually followed with a quiet little "motherfricker" under my breath.

A strange habit i have been doing recently is having some sort of informational youtube video going on low with my phone on sleep mode for 30minutes. I usually never make it 10minutes in before falling asleep.
