We live in southeast Louisiana. Even in winter it can be relatively warm. But even on really cold night we leave it on. I need the air movement.

Why would you have a fan in your bedroom if you don’t use it?

The fan in my bedroom stays on 24/7/365. It’s never off

Ceiling fan on high and floor fan that sounds like prop plane radial engine on high - FTW.

Yes. Can’t stand dead stale air. Need air movement and a bit of white noise even if temp is good.

If I’m in a hotel room I run the AC down to about 68 and keep the fan on the whole time to help drown out hotel noise.

Sounds like most responders have a gas issue at night. Just calling out the obvious.

I turn it off twice a year to dust the blades. Magic dust stickin on there while it's always moving...that's BS.

Somebody was saying it is a San Antonio thing. I guess maybe it is a southern thing in general

Yes. The last thing I do every night before getting in bed is turn off the lights and turn on the ceiling fan.

It has been in the 50s at night here in Upstate SC. Delightful.

We are looking at houses in Charlotte and I’ve noticed a lot of the bedrooms don’t have ceiling fans. Is this a deep deep South thing? It can be 25 degrees outside but that fan stays on.

I have mine on a smart switch. I can turn it off/on in bed with my voice or my phone.

Shouldn’t that be the first thing you do before getting into to bed?
