Do you let people come to your property and not follow the rules you've set for your property?
You're the one who mad on the internet about one of the most trivial things in life and I'm the stupid one? Ok pal.

Policy is not law.
You're conditioned to think it is though.

I think you are being an arse assuming that I was rude to her..I asked if there was a problem and she decided to walk off..

Only at Costco, I don’t shop at any other establishments that request a peek at my receipt.

If there is a line to show some old lady a receipt I ain’t waiting for that. Just walk past them.

Most of the time. They are just doing their job.
If another store employee or idiot customer has pissed me off. No.

"I'd rather they respect my privacy and not assume me a thief."
When checking receipts is done or attempted all the time when realistically possible based on traffic no one is assuming you are a thief. You sound paranoid.
Also as far as your privacy with your purchase in their bag you are probably stored on a video server for their security cameras with whatever you want private, cashier knows what you purchased, customer behind you knows what you purchased, another is probably posting to Snapchat or instagram with you in background purchasing them, and they will have a copy of receipt along with your payment info (minus full CC#). If you want privacy about the items you just purchased from the company you just purchased them from seconds ago while still on their property and in their building You might want to shift to Dark Web start using Tor along with some anonymous bitcoin and a PO Box. I hate tracking across sites by 3rd parties or sold to 3rd parties as much as anyone especially by Amazon, google, & Facebook, but you are asking for a privacy that didn't even exist before those companies were created.
Especially when exits are away from registers checking receipts is just an added deterrent that in some cases allows more product to be displayed on floor and not have to use a pull tag or have an employee walk it to a register. I have seen some catch things that benefit customer. If not paying for itself with less theft or other shrinkage they wouldn't use them. Less theft helps keeps prices low. Acting paranoid in stores and also posting this on indexed websites using 3rd party Ad tools is probably drawing more attention to yourself and more employees seeing what you are buying.

I mean, bruh...is it really that big of a deal to take the 30 seconds or less that it takes to show the receipt? You literally spent more time arguing your point than it takes to just show the receipt.

Sometimes yeah.
I just walk out of the store like a normal human. If they ask to see my receipt I show them. I'm not going to cause a scene, but I'm not going to go out of my way to prove to them I purchased something. If they wanna chase me down in the parking lot and put their hands on me because I didn't show a receipt I'd be glad to be victimized by a multinational corporation.

I do, because lack of respect for personal property is becoming an epidemic and I want to help fight this. It's not a perfect approach to the problem but at least the receipt-checker is doing something.
Exactly. Regardless of cameras at registers and whatever other surveillance goes on, it appears WM is still getting ripped off by a lot of people. Don't think they would have started posting someone to check carts if this wasn't the case. They've also installed gates in the Ruston store to make people have to go out through a checkout line. That tells me there was a problem with people paying for some items, then going back in the store and adding to what was scanned at the check out. If the person at the door saw them leave a register, disappear, then reappear, they'll most likely check their bag.
There's also a high likelihood of employees letting family and friends pass through their register without paying for items. Another person at the door might help with that.
Don't go there if you don't like their policies. I hate a thief. They've driven up the price of everything any of us buy. I'm all for a store doing whatever they can to stop them.
I miss the days of watching an off duty cop tackling a stupid a-hole who's trying to shoplift a boombox from K-Mart.

I don't have problem with showing my receipt..But I do have a problem when I self checkout and a WM employee is giving me the look like I am stealing..I asked her if there was a problem and she just walked off...I don't put up with that crap.

I get asked nearly every time I walk out of WM. I just smile and keep going, and it's never been a forced issue.
Anyone stop or do you keep walking too.
I always hold my receipt in my hand at the potential. It's literally 5 seconds of wasted time.
Not sure what the issue is here.

While I won't ever possibly defend WalMart as being "not trashy", I would say that at least establishments that are doing this are trying to de-trash themselves somewhat.
Home Depot just lets you walk out with new power tools and tells you to enjoy the rest of your day.

So you’re an arse to someone doing their job? They don’t even look at the receipt usually. They just get it and mark it with a highlighter.
