Yeah didn't they change the classification many times. I can remember they would classify white/non-white and iirc one time it was black/non-black

Heaven forbid a child be exposed to what the rest of the world is like. I mean...all of those kids, no matter their viewpoints, still have to have and maintain decent GPAs to go to that school so it's not like your kids are being surrounded by brain dead druggie kids.

I live in Jackson TN, and send mine to private school, as do 98% of people who can even remotely afford it. Our public schools are absolute shite, and definitely due to a demographics problem. But even if it weren’t for the demographics, I’d likely still do private school.

I grew up in rural area, nearest private school was over a hour away. We all went to public. I liked it. Rich and poor all went school together. Some of my childhood classmates dropped out of high school and some went on to be very successful. I enjoyed the diversity.

This is the same in BR. Most of the suburban schools that are good though. You just have to deal with the traffic.

Depends on if they plan on living in the real world or a Progressive enclave. Progressive Enclave living gets you the advantage of your kid being surrounded by wealthy white kids who share your values and you can still go online and lecture your poor pitiful Louisiana relatives on how racist they are because they send their kids to private schools.

I had someone online (it might have been on here) tell me that people like me are the reason that BR public schools suck because I send mine to private.

My oldest son graduated from a private school in BR. My youngest son went to the same private school from pre-k through 8th grade and made straight A’s throughout. He got into BRMHS for 9th grade and made straight A’s for the first semester. But the difference is that he has to work for it this year. He is being challenged at BRMHS where he could just show up and make straight A’s in private school. Also, we just got a report showing that he was ranked 51 out of 411 kids in the 9th grade with a 4.2 grade point average. How in the hell are there 50
Kids with higher GPA’s? I’m not worried about him becoming a SJW as he is too much of a capitalist. The boy likes his money and doesn’t jive with the liberals at BRMHS.

Because they're taking more AP/Honors classes than your son and making As in them, which means more quality points and higher GPA.

I still wouldn't choose that if there was a good private option nearby. I'm choosing a better peer group in addition to the education.

It's the same demographics, only thing you gain is the religious aspect (if that is important).

I get it. But 50+ kids with straight A’s? That’s like 15% of the class making straight A’s. I went to a private school in New Orleans and we might have had 2 or 3 with straight A’s. Same with my oldest sons class.

Not really unusual if you go to a magnet school. I had like a 3.5 GPA in HS(didn't take any AP classes) and didn't even make the top 25% of my class. Because many of my classmates had like 4.2 GPAs from straight As in AP classes.

If you were a Progressive I’d be all over your shite if you were a big noisy defender of public school and yet refused to send your school there. Public schools are so great - especially for Your kids. My kids go to this one over here- only 20k a year and summer trip to France. Enjoy your shithole.

Schools are probably causing more anxiety and poor social behavior than any good they do. Hopefully they'll primarily be a thing of the past in a few decades.

Teachers handing out too many As and public school GPAs are insanely inflated
